Letter from Obama hits Virginia mailboxes

Obama's name is on a letter being sent out to Virginia voters.

Obama's name is on a letter being sent out to Virginia voters.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - With their final mailing of the Virginia governor's race, Democrats are hoping President Obama can motivate his 2008 supporters to show up once again for Creigh Deeds next Tuesday.

The Democratic Party of Virginia sent a mail piece Thursday to 330,000 "surge voters" - the Democrats who voted for the first time in 2008 and helped propel Obama to victory in the Commonwealth.

"Last year you joined with over 600,000 Virginians who registered and voted for the first time in their lives," reads the one-page letter, titled "A special message from President Barack Obama." "Your message was clear, your voice was heard and today we're beginning to see the fruits of that labor."

"To make real changes in this country, it will take more than just my presidency - it requires your continued vigilance in the cause of progress," the note continues.

The president goes on to ask voters to make time to go to the polls on November 3 and cast their ballots for Deeds, "the partner I need in Virginia."

Obama appeared with Deeds earlier this week in Norfolk in an effort to rally Democrats who have been less-than enthusiastic about the governor's race. Deeds is trailing Republican Bob McDonnell in the polls.

Has this man no shame??!!! Wonder how many people could have used this money for a meal today. Now that Obama wasted it on his campaigning again, many will go to bed tonight without a meal. So sad, so very sad indeed when a vote is more important than helping your fellow man.

Too late Obama..........McDonnell has a 10-12 point lead. I envy those in Virginia--they are some of the first who get to vote and speak out to say--NO BAMA!!!!

Obama and the Democrats have now lost Virginia--and Virginia will be voting Republican in 2010 and 2012.

Republicans/Independents will be voting for the Republican---this leaves only the Democrats voting for Democrats. And, unless Obama is able to perform miracles regarding the economy/unemployment rate by the 2010 elections--a lot of the moderate Dems might just stay home!!!

That's right. To make real changes in this country, it will require another president besides this Teleprompter in Chief.

Given the ineptitude of this administration, I'm surprised they got the date right.

Whatever, lemmings. When Obama says jump, your only allowable answer is "how high?".

Will they have members of the Black Panther Party standing outside the polling places this time?

Wow..........Obama and the Democrats are now getting desperate.

McDonnell is currently leading by double digits--it is too late for any type of Obama miracle in Virginia.

Maybe they are just trying to prevent a double digit loss???

Thank you Virginia citizens for voting the way that the majority in the country feel right now!!! I can't wait until the 2010 elections--so that the rest of the country can get their chance to vote as well.

Oh yeah vote for my candidate since I have been so TRANSPARENT and have yet to make this country more DIVISIVE and have accomplished so much. Other than consistently campaigning & constantly whining & complaining about my predecessor I am sure Virginia wants Deeds...

If they vote McDonnell in, we'll have to listen to them moan and groan for the next 4 years.

Cash for clunkers cost the Federal Government $24,000 per car! Is this change you can believe in? What a waste of money! I would have rather had the 4 billion dispersed between the tax payers...or better yet NOT SPENT.
When will you Obamabots question the government that works for the taxpayers?

What a pathetic waste of air our "president" is. He and the MOO team showed me what their leadership is capable of. Not what I am willing to accept.

Thank you, Mr. President. Go Deeds!

This election is too important to allow McDonnell in the governor's mansion with his sadly admitted chauvinism against women, using a spokesperson after disrespecting innocent people with disability, and his associations with the unethical Rudy Giuliani.

By comparison, Creigh Deeds is the best choice by far with his bipartisan approaches for VA governor.

Obama is at it again - "It doesn't matter if you know nothing about this election. Vote for Deeds because I say so. Or because you are black like me."

Of course, Liberals think it is okay to post comments that Republicans just stick together and blindly obstruct Democrats at all costs, but it's okay for the President to advocate the identical thing on their side.

If people truly care about this election, they'd vote their conscience without Obama igniting them to do so blindly.

Perhaps this is why Republicans can't get their ideas to the President; he is too busy campaigning for Corzine, Deeds, and attending multi-million dollar fundraisers. Say what you want about Bush, but at least he was AT the White House some of the time to govern.

In the guys first year he has already made 28 campaign speeches.

Bill Clinton and Bush spent their first year being President.

Clown boy spends his first year golfing, vacationing, and campaigning.

Hey Barack. How about fixing the economy and creating jobs rather than saving creating bull crap....

Just a letter or do some letters also come with some "Obama bucks" like they gave out in Detroit where all the people getting our money for free were told it is Obama's own money he giving out, and not the fact that it is tax payer money?

Some getting a limo ride on election day that includes a stop at the liquor store?

Democrats, so moral and honest, such great role models for our children. The result of Obama as a role model? Who knows, but some insight might be available at youtube where you can see video of the outcome of his community organizing efforts in Chicago. Hey, he is like is like FDR who said speak softly but carry a big stick.
