RNC says 'vote conservative' in NY-23

(CNN) - The Republican National Committee is pouring some last-minute money into the highly-anticipated special election in New York's 23rd congressional district with a new radio ad, as the party throws its support to Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman.

The RNC released a new radio ad on Monday encouraging Republicans to support conservative candidates on Election Day. Without naming Hoffman, the narrator says that voters "need conservative leaders who stand up for our values."

"Whose side are you on? The Pelosi-Paterson tax-and-spend train wreck?" the narrator asks in the ad, echoing a Hoffman campaign theme. "Or do you believe in Republican conservative values, like thrift, personal responsibility, and family? Let's tell the liberals, enough is enough."

The RNC had previously backed Republican nominee Dede Scozzafava, who dropped out of the race over the weekend and officially backed the Democratic nominee, Bill Owens.

The ad will air for two days in North Country media markets. The RNC would not reveal the size of the buy.

The Republican Party is a disgrace and an abomination. There is something putrid about these guys and gals. The Republican Parties of past decades did not make me want to shower after I hear or see them speak on issues. I think it may have started with the Newt Gingrich Crew a few years back.

  2. Randolph Carter, I'm no expert, but....

It's actually hilarious to watch the republicans alienating anybody who is moderate from their party. Soon they'll be down to the lunatic fringe and the tools of big business. Not much of a base is it? The other wonderful thing happening is the demographic shift in this country. We're getting browner and younger. Neoclowns, your days are numbered and you know it. That's why you're all panicky and fearful right now. Sooner or later we'll get this country back from the bible-thumping hicks and trickledown Randroids who ruined it. Have a nice day!

since when do conservatives value family and thrift? They favor policies that punish families, drive people apart by creating immencse and unecessary economic hardship. the ran up more than 10 trillion in debt primarily to buy bombs and pay country club dues for millionaires. What a joke. Conservatives have been a boil on the backside of the US for more than century, but especially since the wretched years from 1981-1993 and then again at the beginning of the 2st century. Horrible vile little squibbs.

Conservative = Protect Insurance Company Profits !!

Watch any channel on TV – nothing but Insurance Ads – paid for with YOUR premiums. Follow the money, conservatives – save insurance profits so they can run more ads and get more profits.

The only thing that's going to save the GOP is rebellion from within, a rebellion that repudiates the Liberal-Lite philosophies that's hallmarked the party's recent years,. The Neo-con philosophies of Big Government and spending that would do a Democrat proud, combined with the self-righteous bigotry they've been showing for a decade or so, are utterly repugnant to real conservatives.

Well Clinton was susposed to be a tax and spend liberal! Bush was susposed to be a smaller government, fiscal conservative!
Clinton put more people OFF Walefare than any President and left us with a budget surplus.
Bush made the government bigger by adding a whole new dept., Homeland Security,( We already had 14 agencys for Homeland Security). Started 2 unneeded wars, over 5 thousand more dead Americans, and left us with a 3 trillion +++ dollar debt..
What do we really want? You just can't tell a party by the proproganda!

Possibly 3 big losses for the Democrats tomorrow.

The loss that I would love to see the most is New Jersey!!

It wil be a GREAT day of celebration if Christie wins New Jersey. As this means that the majority in the country are very well aware of the damage that Obama and the Democrats are doing to our economy, states, and country!!!

I am an Independent-–my family has voted Democrat their entire lives.

These are no longer the Democrats of JFK-–the Democratic Party has been hijacked.

Other than touting their religion what values do republicans have?
They have stooped to sewer tactics in everything they do, obstructing anything and everything that could benefit us and our country.
They have put big business and party over our survival.
Yet, they claim Christianity while flirting with the devil.
We most certainly do not need politicians such as this making decisions for all of America.

The ideological "cleansing" of the Republican Party of anyone to the left of Dick Cheney continues. Upstate voters should say "no" to the Republican carpetbaggers who have launched a political pogram in our state!

And the democratic party of the last 50 years has been a Godsend? 20% inflation in the in 70's, unemplyoment at or near what it is now, a demoralized and dogged America. Sounds like a great place to be. Way better than the 80's thru 2000's, when unprecedented peacetime growth occured, we were safe, and opportunity abounded.

As someone who has actually has lived in this district.... Who care if tea party clowns win this! If McQue had ran in this race or an other republican they whould win 70 to 30. Its the make up of the district!!! So you tea party clown turns Owens in possible winnner way to go! This not a referrendum on the Dem. but on the Republicanss. Lets guess about a year from now... my guess he primaried and loss as party guy and clowns slink away

What I know about this NY23 district including Watertown Malon and Govnor and Potsdam is its a lot farmers and poor. Why don't you tea party clown talk about cutting farm handouts. My guess it was easier to be a leming and scream Reagan durning the debate then actually take the tough stance. Thankfully this Hoffamn will gone next year!

Palin has lead this charge and others are following because they, like she want to save the presents of conservative values in America before we're sold down the river in financial ruin to become a 2nd world nation. "One nation under China.........". She's not the idiot Tina Fey portrayed her to be. There are still many imature attack dogs who follow like sheep to spew hatred toward her rather than unbiasedly paying clear attention. They need to rethink to allow a clear decision about her on their own research. It's starting to look like she's the one with the answers and the smart politicians will follow her lead. It now seems she left the governorship to save the conservative movement in America and it's working. Wake up, America. Here she comes.

The RNC doesn't know a thing about conservatives. That party has too many rightwing drama queens at the helm. Fearmongering rightwing reactionaries with no plausible ideas are NOT conservative.

It takes a certain level of delusion and stupidity to confuse 'conservative' with 'rightwing'. And that confusuion is detrimental to our nation. The [R] party is truly dumb as rocks.

I voted for Obama, and think he's doing a good job overall, and I'll put up my conservative credentials against any of the neo-nitwits that like to post on here.
