Palin to keep low-profile on Wisconsin trip

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption="Palin is keeping a low profile on her trip to Wisconsin Friday."](CNN) - Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is set to deliver remarks at a Wisconsin Right to Life event Friday evening, one of the few speeches the former Republican vice presidential nominee will have given since she resigned the governorship last summer.

But Palin appears to be doing her best to keep a low profile on this trip: no press will be allowed into the Milwaukee auditorium where she will speak and those who have paid the $30 admittance fee are unable to carry in cell phones, cameras, laptops, or recording devices of any kind.

Wisconsin Democratic Party Chairman Mike Tate told the Wisconsin Radio Network he finds all these restrictions "bizarre."

"You know, for someone who claims to be a rogue and isn't afraid of what other people think it really is sort of hypocritical to not let the media, the press cover your event."

Meanwhile Wisconsin Republican Party Chairman Reince Priebus said he's excited Palin is coming to his state, but stressed the party has nothing to do with this event or its limitations.

Palin's speech comes a day after a new national poll suggests the former Alaska governor may face some obstacles should she decide to run for the White House. According to the new Gallup survey, only about one in three Americans would seriously consider casting their vote for her.

The speech also comes a week and half before Palin's highly-anticipated memoir "Going Rogue: An American Life" is released. The Alaska Republican will commence a national book tour soon after and sit down for high-profile interviews with Oprah Winfrey and Barbara Walters.

Instead of speaking at these venues, why doesn't she go back to college and get a real education? Why is she so afraid of the press. Most of them are Republicans anyway? The best thing that could happen to America would be for her to take her speech money, the profits on her ridiculous book, go back to hunting animals from helicopters and stay out of everyone's lives. We need real leaders, people who care about this country, and not some 15 minutes of fame person, who out to make money, and who does not believe in many of the values she preaches. After all, she got pregnant before marriage, and her daughter did not learn the lesson and got pregnant without marriage. Palin is married to the first DUD and he really is a DUD. But, I guess that is all she deserves.

First you say you will, and then you won't and then you say you do and then you don't, so what are you going to do? Oh, am I a rogue or what? CNN, why do you waste our valuable time with this twit?

I can't imagine in my wildest dreams having Sarah Palin as President of the United States. It sends chills down my spine. This woman is out of touch with reality to even think she has the credentials to hold this powerful position.

I'm not a huge fan of everything Palin does or says, and may or may not vote for her, but at least the article here could have mentioned that her book is a huge bestseller, even before it hits the shelves.

    Doesnt anybody get it ?

She's not going to run for the white house. she's just cashing in. Why suffer on 400K a year as president when you can get book deals etc...

Id say she's really pretty smart to play it like that. All the perks without the effort.

Her "book" is highly anticipated? By whom?

She should have titled it PALIN: BY AND FOR THE ILLITERATE

Sarah is only about Sarah. She has never evolved beyond the manipulative and narcissistic back woods prom queen she was in high school.
It is a good thing for the nation that this pathetically un-enlightened tragically ill-informed person has been seen for who and what she really is.
Of course we have to wonder what the one in three Americans who WOULD vote for her for president are thinking.
Or if they even think at all!

After thinking hard about why I don't like Palin, I realize it is because she is George Bush. She is his policies, She is his lack of intellectual curiosity, She is his shallow understanding of policies and lack of any wisdom. She is his tendency to have his religious beliefs drive policies that effect the rest of us. Look where George Bush got us. Why in God's name would anyone want more if it?
One in three Americans considering voting for her is a very frightening thought.

She probably doesn't want saturday night live to copy her. She does not have the ability to bring the Republican party back, and in fact, she does more harm than good. She should go home and raise her family.

She did the same thing in China. Palin has an ability to control a crowd that is scary, add that to the "no cameras policy", she seems to be instilling at every event, and it makes for a scary situation. Palin’s politics is eerily reminiscent, in most aspects, to many early fascist movements.

1 in 3 would vote for Palin? That's far too generous. I'd estimate 1 in 20, at best. I am a Republican, and I would not vote for her – ever. She is unfit for high office no matter what her views may be. I am surprised that people still care what this private citizen does. Palin news is thus distracting - perhaps it is meant to be?

What could I comment? These types of stories prove that CNN has it's head buried up the Democrats butt. People were told that those who appear to be the front runners for GOP Presidential consideration would be attacked by the Leftists. You are proving that right akso! Since Huckabee is the leader so far when can we expect his stories? You should spend more time reporting the news as opposed to trying to manipulate it.

CNN must know something that I don't as they refer to Palin being a former Republican presidential candidate. That she was the Repub VP candidate was bad enough!

So Palin won't let anyone record her. This is pretty bizarre behavior. Perhaps Palin's been palling around with people that understand that she's not the sharpest knife in the drawer, and therefore she's hesitant to let any astute people possibly record her words and (gasp!) hold her to them.

BWAHAHHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! "NO cell phones, cameras, laptops, or recording devices of ANY kind." Maybe she should just Facebook or Twitter her speech to the audience on a jumbo-screen with pictures and stuff. My God! What an imbecile. I don't blame her though. I wouldn't want the world to see me make a complete laughing-stock of myself on You Tube either.

This is not neccessary for any 'jigged up' comments. Palin is a lady who should be able to do as she pleases. Unlike Obama at least she knows what she is doing.

You guy rush and fumble about to slander Palin. Looking everywhere for the smallest crumb of negative press you can muster. But you hold a blind eye to those in the Obama administration and FAIL as journalist to report on REAL news. For example, where are the stories about Valerie Jarrets slums in Chicago that she receives tax payers money for repairs but does none? This is just one of many examples of the blind eye the so called "real news" organizations like CNN ignore due to their pro-Obama stance.
