Washington (CNN) – President Obama has directed a review of all intelligence in the federal government's files relating to last week's shootings at Fort Hood, especially any intelligence relating to the alleged shooter Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, according to the presidential memorandum released by the White House Thursday.

Obama has also directed that an immediate review be done of how "any such intelligence was handled, shared, and acted upon within individual departments and agencies and what intelligence was shared with others," the presidential memorandum said.

In the memorandum, Obama also directs that the preliminary results of the review be provided by November 30.

The memo is addressed to the Secretary of Defense, the Director of National Intelligence, and the Director of the FBI. Obama asked for the inventory and review on November 6, the day after the Fort Hood shootings, but the president's memo was not released by the White House until Thursday.

Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan has been charged with 13 preliminary counts of premeditated murder stemming from last week's shooting at Fort Hood Army Post, an Army investigator said Thursday.

Too funny!! Now he thinks he can get an accurate review, after his entire administration can't even speak the word terrorism!!! Polital correctness is going to be the fall of our great nation. This guy is a complete idiot. Can't wait for 2012.

I think a very thorough background check of every federal employee, including the military recruits is necessary, for a number of reasons. Targeting only Muslims makes the assumption that all Muslims are extremists, which is false. Those of you on here who are preaching hate against Muslims and are stereotyping them are only making the situation worse. Its not a matter of political correctness, it's about fairness and equality. That's what America's supposed to allow. I wonder how many of you would consider those who have killed people who work at abortion clinics or bombed those clinics terrorists or extremists?

I agree somebody got some explaining to do. NO FINGER POINTING!

It is easy to do a Monday morning quarterback routine when you are a sports fan. But when the owner calls you in on Monday morning he does not want to hear of any excuses. It's time for all the coaches to give their sides and how this will NEVER OCCUR AGAIN!!!!

Now the AMERICAN public expects whatever happened to be spoken to openly with IMMEDIATE CORRECTIONS.

The intelligence agencies should exercise the thoughtful contemplation for which the president is so famous, and answer him when – or if – they feel like it.

These are all poisoned fruits from a poisoned tree.

Soldiers turning inward because logically the war is illegal and thus immoral.

Hassan (if found guilty) should be punished to the full extent of the law.

So should G. Bush and D. Cheney.

Whisper it on the whirlwind, whisper it on the whirlwind.....bring them all to trial......Peace begins with justice. Justice is the American Way, not Hubris.

This guy was going to Iraq, not Afghanistan.

Regardless of theater, psych docs DO NOT see combat. He was never going to engage his fellow Muslims in combat. He didn't have PDSD, he wasn't stressed out....he was a terrorist.

Obama needs to understand that we are still at war no matter what the polls tell him about Afghanistan.

When the military officers fail to police there own, lives can be lost security does not stop once a person is hired. If government employee have to be reinvestigate.. Effective immediately by order of a non excutive order.. All military officers and enlisted personnel shall randomly selected for a thorough backgound investigation. Inaddition every officer selected for o4 and above and Enlisted being selected for E-8 and E-9...

This acted to being implimented to maintain good order and discipline.

How many terrorist sleeper cells might there be in the United tates that thus far have not yet been discovered? Remember this is a large country containing a complex society.I greatly admire the commitment and the efforts of the intelligence services for what they have ,and can accomplish.Needless to mention that it must be considered theorethically impossible to be one necessary step ahead ALL the time. After 9/11 the country has fared exceptionally well one would think! As far as Major Hasan is concerned, his tial may well prove him guilty of terrorism. Many will yell for a quick death sentence.
It could be argued that this response in itself also constitutes an act of terror....You tell me what the right strategy should be !.........

The guy was a major in OUR need to hype it up to score political points

Obama is right, no need to start getting people scared by calling a code orange or code yellow...but yeah someone in the Army should have realized Husan was a fraud. That part needs to be investigated.

So we're not jumping to any conclusions and refusing to label this as terrorism.

I also find it interesting how quickly the murder of George Tiller, the abortion doctor, was labled by the left as terrorism yet they refuse to call this terrorism. What more do you need? Did you see his presentation? If not, I highly recommend that you take a look at it. It's absolutley frightening...
