[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/11/16/art.clinton.gi.jpg caption="Clinton would 'look forward' to meeting with Palin."](CNN) - While their fictional personas have teamed up on Saturday Night Live, Sarah Palin and Hilary Clinton have actually never met.
But the secretary of state said Sunday on NBC's Meet the Press she'd "look forward" to talking politics with Palin over coffee sometime soon.
Clinton was responding to an excerpt in Palin's forthcoming memoir in which the Alaska governor praises the then senator Clinton's 2008 presidential primary campaign effort.
"Should Secretary Clinton and I ever sit down over a cup of coffee, I know that we will fundamentally disagree on many issues," Palin writes in the new book called "Going Rogue: An American Life. "But my hat is off to her hard work on the 2008 campaign trail. A lot of her supporters think she proved what Margaret Thatcher proclaimed. 'If you want something said, ask a man. If you want something done, ask a woman.'"
I would presume such meeting will be for tutoring purpose. I wonder why Hilary would want to meet proven idiot?Perhaps to tell her stay from my husband as the former Prez has an attraction for women of low intellect such as Palin.
"...I know that we will fundamentally disagree on many issues..."
Just like Bush said "the economy is fundamentally sound"...
GOP: Evolve or die...
Secretary Clinton is far above Sarah Palin in every aspect that the only thing that sit down will result in some great laughs for Hillary. I think Secretary Cilton has been working very hard and can use a few good belly-aching laughs, but she would be too much of a lady to let us know how ignorant and humorous she found Palin.
Two wonderful women; both deserve immense respect in their own ways.
The both have one thing in common... The MSM stuck it to BOTH of them. Plenty to talk about there!
CNN is made up of a gaggle of rabid squirrels.
This doesn't sound like a "sit down". More like a stoop down. Hillary, why would you stoop down to this level especially with the level you've achieved. You are a smart and articulate woman. Why give her the time of day?
Will one of the "higher ups" finally stop giving her the spotlight and just tell to shut up and go away?
It is spelled "Hillary."
So, let's get this straight:
When talking with HRC, she can respectfully disagree over coffee.
When talking with – or more commonly about – Obama, he's got terrorist sympathies, is intentionally running this country into the ground, is a closet socialist, is setting up death panels, blah blah blah.
Unless I missed something, HRC is still the Sec. of State under the Obama administration and holds many of the same core positions on issues. She also supports universal health care which includes what Palin has called 'death panels.'
Yet, Palin can have coffee with HRC and can only smack talk Obama.
Let's call it what it is: Reverse sexism. As a guy, I'm probably even sexist for using such candor. I may not be able to see Russia from my house, but I can see this double standard from thousands of miles away!
Should Hillary give attention to the Rouge Rogue?
What is with CNN?
Most of the focus on these Political Tickers are given to the Alaskan Air Head.
Very curious. Not very professional.
mrs. clinto sitting is nothing but degradation...palin is an idiot...thats it..why sitting with her????
Good for Sarah Palin – she's a class act.
They are the front-runners for 2012. Obama is 3rd.
Too bad the Gimme party threw Hillary under the bus for Obama. Obama promised more freebies, spare no expense to the working people.
I think before Sarah sits down with Hillary, she should warm up with the ladies on The View.
If she survives that, THEN maybe a real politician.
Oh, there are so many people who would love to see Sarah try to have an intelligent conversation with Hillary.
It will certainly be a pleasure in 2012 when these two square off for the Presidency and the moron will be gone. No one in his right mind will try and put the unpatriotic moron back in office. I am so tired of him already embarassing America every where he goes. Then the icing on the cake was when he, two Generals and two Senators stood on stage while the National Anthem was played for the memorial for the fallen troops in Ft. Hood was played. The Generals and the two Senators saluting while Erkel stood with his hate America facial and his two arms hanging limply like a gorilla at his sides. Now he is insulting the Japanease.
I imagine having coffee with Sarah Palin would be a lot like having coffee with Elmo the Muppet. It'd be very loud, and you'd have to patiently explain a lot of simple concepts that your companion didn't understand, like "no, we don't EAT the napkins" and "the world is round and it's much more than 6000 years old." Still, it'd be good practice for Hillary... being Secretary of State, she has to deal with lots of strange-accented, theocratic lunatics who are hostile to American progress, so coffee with Palin would be par for the course.
I don't think Hillary want to lower her standards to speak the language of a third grader. Sara Palin just doesn't have it.
YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING !!! Who is trying to upstage whom?
Palin doesn't have the class or grace to be in Hillary's presence. And furthermore, Sarah needs to quit using Hillary's name to advance her own misguided causes and warped beliefs.
Hillary just likes any woman who has not been involved in a scandal with her husband.
CNN stop pushing Palin down our throats in your daily news, it seem that you have nothing else to report ,what about our President we want to know more of his trip and how we can better America for us who is struggling, who is without jobs, Our Presdent is trying so hard to make our country economy working again and create jobs for us.In your daily news it's all about Palin the looser who only preaches hate and lies, that is not news, or is it all about ratings, if that so you are becoming another Fox News and your ratings will go down in the basement. CNN you are going to loose a lot of your viewers, if you are following Fox News.
Sure, at this point, nobody's running for anything, so why not an intro over coffee? It's just coffee... just don't hype it as a debate over Russian relations...
And if you want someone to go away, stop writing about her every 5 minutes when it's not newsworthy.
