Clinton would 'look forward' to Palin sit down

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/11/16/art.clinton.gi.jpg caption="Clinton would 'look forward' to meeting with Palin."](CNN) - While their fictional personas have teamed up on Saturday Night Live, Sarah Palin and Hilary Clinton have actually never met.

But the secretary of state said Sunday on NBC's Meet the Press she'd "look forward" to talking politics with Palin over coffee sometime soon.

Clinton was responding to an excerpt in Palin's forthcoming memoir in which the Alaska governor praises the then senator Clinton's 2008 presidential primary campaign effort.

"Should Secretary Clinton and I ever sit down over a cup of coffee, I know that we will fundamentally disagree on many issues," Palin writes in the new book called "Going Rogue: An American Life. "But my hat is off to her hard work on the 2008 campaign trail. A lot of her supporters think she proved what Margaret Thatcher proclaimed. 'If you want something said, ask a man. If you want something done, ask a woman.'"

As usual CNN gives only part of the story. Sec Clinton was asked if she would consider sitting down for coffee with Palin as a result of Palin saying she would like to. Let's face it Clinton was just being polite.

I think Secretary Clinton could do much better than how she had handled Israeli -Palestinian peace talks and North Korea. I think this job is over her capability and she forgets what her job is sometimes. But she is not a trained diplomat to begin with so we should not give too much hope for results. Somehow we should control damage. Personally, I think President Obama should replace her with a professional diplomat. Governor Richardson would have been a much better choice for SOS.

Hillary is a real lady so of course she will meet with Palin. I pray to God that Hillary will run and win the presidency in 2012. Its time for something good to happen to the US. And 2008 was not a lucky year.

PLEASE.....Secretary Clinton was only responding to the NEWS MEDIA question....this reminds me of a bunch of kids trying to start a fight with two people based on their different views.

Sarah Palen isn't on Secretary Clinton RADAR and the conversation wouldn't have any substance based on Sarah's background on AMERICAN government.

Sarah will remain in the bubble of media she can have in her favor, oppose to open media for scruntiny....and can you blame her...she is not ready for that type of "prime time"....

But on the otherhand, Secretary Clinton live for those moments and is a very poised person in any media cycle....

MSNBC scored fair media hits for asking the question and getting a response from Secretary Clinton.

I bet you FOX will not even attempt to score any fair media hits from asking the same question to Sarah.....hmmmm....

If Hillary would ever sit down with Sarah Palin for coffee there's probably a host of questions i'd love for Hillary to ask her but first i'd want her to throw a cup of hot coffee in Sarah's face.

The Secretary of State certainly has more important things to do than to sit down and talk with an extremist dim-bulb who gets a lot of unwarranted attention.

I have heard nothing but Sara Palin stories all weekend on CNN. I am so sick of hearing about her. Hillary would tear her apart if they ever met for coffee. CNN please stop giving this woman press or I am going to switch news.

A dialogue between Hillary and sassy Sarah would be like the meeting of strong intelligence of a leader vs. pastry flake fluff, diligent hard work vs. ADD media manipulation, deep authenticity vs. good face makeup, sincerity of mission vs. publicity stunter. Guess who is who? Duh – Hillary is the first: strong intelligence, diligent hard work, deep authenticity, sincerity of mission. Sarah would be the latter: flaky fluff, good face makeup, ADD media manipulator, publicity stunter.
Hillary would be gracing Sarah's presence with a wise woman talking to a young kitty. Does anyone think Sarah would actually listen? She is on a roll of media manipulation and money making. That's her main goal in life.

coffee is good enough... we don;t need a dinner. It's a waste of time with Clinton.

I think Hilary would have coffee with Palin for nothing more than just shear amusement. I bet even Hilary is baffled by how dingy Palin is and how she even has gotten this far in life.
