Giuliani spokeswoman: Rudy has not made up his mind

(CNN) - A spokeswoman for Rudy Giuliani says that the former New York City mayor has not made up his mind about running for governor next year.

Maria Comella's comments were in response to report Thursday in the New York Times that Giuliani had decided not to run for New York governor in 2010, according to people who have been told of his decision.

"Rudy has a history of making up his own mind and has no problem speaking it. When Mayor Giuliani makes a decision about serving in public office, he will inform New Yorkers on his own," said Comella in a statement.

Recent polls of New York State voters indicate that Giuliani holds a wide lead over former Rep. Rick Lazio, the only Republican to have declared a gubernatorial bid, in a hypothetical 2010 GOP primary match-up.

According to the surveys, Giuliani has a double-digit advantage over incumbent Democratic Gov. David Paterson in a hypothetical general election faceoff. But the polls suggest that New York State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, who has not indicated if he wants to run for governor, tops Giuliani by 10-12 points. Cuomo also easily beats Paterson in a possible Democratic primary, according to those surveys.

The polls indicate that New Yorkers have an overall favorable opinion of the former New York City mayor.

Sunday on CNN's State of the Union with John King, Giuliani said he had not yet made up his mind regarding a run. He had previously indicated that he would make a decision before the end of the year.

He won't announce until Cuomo does. He knows he can't beat Cuomo and doesn't want another race for him to be put in the lost column. If he really wanted to "serve" he wouldn't care who he ran against. But for Mr. a noun, a verb and 911, he doesn't really care about serving the people, it's all about himself. He should remain on the sidelines, forever.

Giuliani is completely Irrelevant – He won ZERO states in his bid for the presidency last year.

He is an ill-tempered, crazy, cranky nutjob – even his own kids can't stand him.

He does not stand a chance at winning. He does not want more of his dirty laudry out to dry and he darn well knows it coming. Beside Guliani may have been a patriot during the 9/11 attacks, but as a person, he sucks! He is not a really nice person and he is not what New Yorker's need or want at this time. He will probably try and use the 9/11 attacks to try and gen up support and or votes. Just another republican still trying to cash in on 9/11 and no doubt will use the old fear tactic especially with the recent news of some of the terrorist may be tried their. New Yorkers don't be fooled by this clown, it's time to move forward. Go home pig face!

"Overall favorable opinion of the former NYC mayor" BAH! Hilarious. I want him to run if only to give him a slap in the face of what this city and state REALLY think of him. Cuomo would blow him out of the water.

If Giuliani were smart, he would not run against Cuomo. So, that means he is sure to run.

I hope he does... that way it will save the American people from having to put up with him trying to run for President. It's bad enough some less educated people support Palin.
