If Lincoln does not vote to go ahead with debate, after voting for the more liberal proposal out of her committee, then, she should be replaced in 2010. It would be a shame to go down in history as the one who destroys the debate and any opportunity for health insurance for all, whether it is Lieberman, Lincoln, Nelson, or Landrieu.

A Democrat scrambles to give something free to his voters. That is where his power is and why he gets elected. Democracies are formed by Conservatives abused by Liberals and then it becomes Socialism ,a fancy word for Communism.People who work and pay into the system, and then when they are worn out ,get something back in return, are not on welfare.People who have sucked on the system since 1960 and never had a job are on welfare. We have five generations that do not realize there is a recession and won't as long as those checks keep coming..It only works if everyone pays into the system. Socialism is when you have been convinced that you owe lawbreakers from across our borders a living and health care..Try that in North Korea,China or Iran. You will be in one of their prisons. If this system can work why do we not all quit work ,sell eveyrthing we have and start getting those checks and public housing?

As a citizen of Louisiana, I find Mary Landrieu catering to the banks and health insurance companies. She is a closet Republican and does not represent the needs of her constituency. Next election, please Louisiana, vote her out of office, for a real Democrat!!!

The going price to buy off a Democratic Senator is now up to 100 million dollars. Sweet.

Why are there "scrambles" for Democratic votes? Health care is a basic. Those so called Democrats" that aren't sure or want to water the legislation down are not really Democrats and should not be elected as such. They are betraying their constituancy.

Catering to the banks seems to be a Democrat thing. I think you have a real Democrat and just do not know it.

The US Senate is very concerned with tradition. Since 1860, the US Senate has not missed a single opportunity to miss an opportunity. The only time the Senate actually functioned was when Lyndon Johnson was twisting arms and busting noses during the fifties and sixties.
I believe that the US Senate will again rise to the occasion and manage not to get anything done.
I am from Texas, and we elected two of the most disappointing public officials in recent memory: Sen. Cornyn and Sen. Hutchison. It would have been better for the nation if Texans had simply not voted and left our two seats empty. They will be part of the plot to defeat this bill, enrich the insurance companies, and cut the quality of medical care for Americans.
