Palin slams Senate health care vote

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/07/25/art.palinbye0725.cnn.jpg caption="Sarah Palin weighed in on the health care debate Friday night."]
WASHINGTON (CNN)– Revisiting some of her campaign trail talking points, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin weighed in on the Senate health care vote, criticizing the Democrats and Majority Leader Harry Reid for a lack of transparency.

"Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is pushing for yet another weekend vote (commonplace now for the party of "transparency") because he knows that the American people will be none too happy about the Democrats' proposal the longer they have to look it over," Palin wrote late Friday night in a posting on her Facebook page.

Republicans, who have expressed opposition to the Democrats' bill from the beginning, have threatened to read the full 2,074 page bill during Senate debate, claiming the more Americans hear about what is in the bill, the less they will like it.

Palin went on to talk about features in the bill: government spending, abortion, and help for special needs children.

"While this Saturday night vote might seem like a procedural matter, at the end of the day a vote against Senator Reid's motion is a vote against massive new government spending and a take-over of 1/6th of the U.S. economy; it's a vote against billions in tax increases and penalties; it's a vote against federal funding of abortion; and it's a vote against ignoring responsible tort reform," Palin wrote. "Among the provisions in this bill will be a $2,500 cap on Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs). The IRS allows families with special needs children to use FSAs to cover educational expenses. This new $2,500 cap will hit these families especially hard and cost them hundreds of dollars in new taxes every year."

Palin concluded by encouraging Americans to voice their opposition to their senators before the vote.
"The American people don't support this – we support the commonsense solutions that have been proposed, but totally ignored by (at this point) some out-of-control Washington politicians. Let's put a stop to Obamacare before it goes any further," she wrote.

I'm deleting CNN from my list of bookmarks until they show some responsible journalism practices. Aside from maybe one top story, it's all high school level nonsense if that. Of course, they probably won't care. And probably won't change. But there are better sources for real usable information and news out there, and as soon as we all start looking to them for facts and insightful editorials with integrity that increase the readers/watchers knowledge, CNN can change it's name to E!2 and cater to every low i.q. sensational story grubbing and paparazzi feeding simpleton who likes this kind of brain numbing garbage. I want to hear what a host has to say about news, not look at their makeup. Please send these 'reporters' and 'journalists' out to do some real work. America needs it bad right now.

    Dear Sarah,
Although I wish you would disappear back into the wild where you came from...you are seriously the best thing to happen to the Democratic Party! Keep spewing your lies and showing the real world how vindictive and stupid you really are...many former Palinites are waking up to the true Sarah Palin! Sarah, you are a quitter! You couldn't finish your term in Alaska...you quit! You couldn't even write your own book...quitter. You couldn't even have the decency to sign 150+ people that stood out in the rain waiting for you in Noblesville, Indiana! Your facebook /twitter apology is a joke! QUITTER!

Can this "rogue" ever come even close to telling the truth? She talks about government funds being used to perform abortions when in fact that isn't in the bill and has been widely publicized. She talks about the need about tort reform. I agree with tort reform, but the republicans have been kicking that one around since Nixons time, yet have never done a anything about it. To me, this says they have real intent behind their rhetoric, that it's just hot air they blow around during elections, soon afterward to be forgotten. I think that just the mere utterance of this out dated schmaltz alone, shows what an unsophisticated hick this woman is and her level of incompetence.

Here is my favorite part of here posting

"The American people don't support this – we support the commonsense solutions"

She does not speak for the American people, give me a break. She is an embarassment to this country. Anyone the would even entertain the idea of her in the oval office is an idiot. What would that nut in Iran do to us with her in the Whitehouse? or North Korea for that matter.
She told O'Reilly that she was smart enough to be president because she has common sense and was a straight shooter. I guess she was real straight with the people of Alaska when she swore to serve her term and someone with common sense would not be involved in one ethics investigation after another.

PLEASE MAKE HER GO AWAY!! SHE IS AN INSULT TO THIS COUNTRY.

Yeah, just keep it the way it is or the way the republicans want it and that will mean more of you die, because of their lack to help get this Health care passed.....or even come up with a sensible one themselves which they have not come up wtih anything that would change the current system......and still be to costly for most people;...Palin it is very evident that you are still sore that Obama bet you and McCain......you can hear it every time you open your mouth......

Sarah probably sympathizes, encourages and enjoys the antics of the tea party group also. All of these splinters, she is part of nothing that can build nothing. I voted for Obama and I voted for Reagan and I am not sorry for doing either. Sarah has little to offer to intelligent debate. She is anti-abortion as am I but Sarah doesn’t think that these same children should have available health care. Where does it say that in the bible Sarah? Do Christians have a responsibility to help those in need? I think that they do.

Not sure she understands that it is a vote simply to bring it to the floor for debate.

Sarah Palin, like all of her Republican Conservative friends, are against anything that helps the middle class or poor. She appears, like her cronies, to only favor the rich.

Savvy Oldtimer had it right: for someone who quit their post as a governor she really has a lot of political opinions for everyone else.

In hindsight, keeping her in the political spotlight is an excellent idea for independents and democrats. As Mary Matalin said recently, she has napalmed bridges ("never burn your bridges") and viciously attacked anyone opposed to her or her extremem ideas.

Point being, people are seeing her for the moronic polarizing figure she is. For the people who truly believe in her I'm surprised you are still alive and didn't kill yourself during the hale bopp comet return.

The only reason she has a "stage" to speak is from the mass of stupidity "propping" her up on that stage. But the more she speaks....the bigger her deficit is noted. I'd really like to thank all the Coporate managed media for making sure her stupidity and irrelevant arguments get noticed by our nation. It just reminds us we made the correct decision in 2008!!! Hopefully....Cheney will continue "shooting off" his mouth to remind us also.

    With much Love,

Palin never read the bill nor does she intend to. All of the points she mentioned came straight from the RNC verbatim.

Palin holds no elective office; is a private citizen; does no research and is a mouthpiece for the RNC. Why the media chooses to cover her is a mystery.

It is obvious that this dingbat is reading from someone else's paper because she doesn't know what anything is. I am still waiting for the right-wingers to call her a celebrity like they did Barack Obama. Oh I forgot it only applies to the Democrats.

Haha, judging by the comments left on CNN, it seems everyone thinks Sarah Palin is dumb, yet the same people cannot wait to read each and every article/posting about her. The media, too, cannot stop talking about her.

Everybody seems to jump on the bandwagon of riding Palin's big coattails for $$$, Dems included.
