Finally, a president that doesn't sit around letting our soldiers get killed, and/or make retarded decisions for EIGHT years. If only we had somebody intelligent (aka NOT a republican) for the previous EIGHT years, this war would be over. Obama must AGAIN get the job done for a moron that could not do ANYTHING right.

Anyone who's read even a fifth grade history book knows that wars are won only when there is a victor and a loser. Pulling out does not mean we won. We are up against people who have sworn to die for their cause. We are showing them that we do not have the same commitment and that makes us weak in their eyes. And weakness only gets scorn and attacks from this enemy.
If anything, I'd say we will have lost in ways that our children and grandchildren will not forgive us for.

Those who say it can not be done in three years, are most likely republicans. It stands to reason, these morons aren't used to having a goal. They are used to being STUPID for a long time before finally achieving a goal. Thank god we replaced that mind set with a president that EXPECTS and DEMANDS a goal, and pursues its success with an INTELLIGENT plan.

Republicans, the most cowardly and pessimistic fatalists ever to walk this earth.

Oh Noes...you are a fool...time tables sure worked well for Guantanamo...it is all about fooling people like you...it will take nearly three years to build up properly and train...all the Obama's goals are after the next election...except when he was running in the 2008...then he used fear about rising unemployment and promises of quick action and results (not the poor ones that have occurred because of his nonsensical actions)...of course an uneducated LEeftist like you wouldn't see that...in fact, you probaly feel he should get another Nobel Prize for his Intentions...btw...sending more troops to war..is that what he won the first Nobel Peace Prize for?...LOL...watching libs try to string coherent thoughts together is amusing...

I fully support a timetable, but by making these public all that is happening is appeasing the whiney Americans and letting the enemy know that if they can hang on for 3 years, we will just leave. We need to quit telling the enemy the game plans and just do them.

Will not happen. Iraq was already suppose to be finished. We are still there. We are still loosing servicemen. But, at least BHO was smart enough to do two things. One, he will say that "most" troops will be out in 3 years which means that in 3 years if 100 of 100,000 troops are brought home, we are reducing troops. Next, he set the date after the next election. I don't think it is really going to matter, but if he did get re-elected he could already begin his lame duck session.

I can hear the purse strings loosen and can see to $$$$ begin to flow to Obama just in time to 'feather his nest" before getting thrown out of office in 2012

We republicans think this idea SUCKS. How can anyone ever set a goal and expect to achieve it? It's just not in our nature to set goals and work towards them!

We are going to gripe about this. You should take a lesson from the prior president: Don't do anything and don't have any plans, run willy nilly and invade countries at random. Don't ever set a goal to WIN, simply keep doing retarded things and expect to LUCK into some kind of success!

That's how us republicans do it! It's so unamerican to set goals, back them up with plans and demand success! Totally bad for america when you do things like that!

Then when we're hit AGAIN (and yes kids, it will happen again) in three and a half years, after AQ has rebuilt its training camps, the libtards will have egg on their faces and blood on their hands.

It's stupid ideas like announcing your withdrawal date, why electing Democrats to power is national suicide.

In other words, he wants to withdraw by 2012 so his base will support him again.

Even if he didn't mean for it to sound this way, he shouldn't have said it, because now people will see him as thinking of his political future more than just winning the war and protecting the American people. Once again, this President is playing politics instead of standing on principle.

I heard if you say, "Socialism," often enough, it makes it true; despite the fact that Medicare and Social Security are the two largest, most heavily publicly funded Socialist programs in the country–and something tells me the Presidents opponents don't want to see either of those programs go anywhere.

Similarly, I heard it's only, "using the troops for a political agenda," when the guy in office is doing something you don't like, rather than sending them off to war to placate the nation's desire for revenge.

Funny how everything's different when the shoe's on the other foot, isn't it?

How about withdrawing when we WIN! We need a Commander in Chief and Generals like we had in World War Two. We didn't mess around back then, and won/had the respect of the world. What has happened to our country?

    Great!!!

Three years and we will be exactly where we are today. Just poorer and will have thrown away more of our soldiers/children. It's so sad.

It is a good idea that the President wants to end this war within 3 years. However, the only problem is that the President should not come out and say when the war will end. That will give the enemies the upper hand and they will get stronger when we leave. All they would have to do would be hide and wait for our troops to come home, then they could get their power back and potentially attack us again. So, a good idea to have a timetable but not a good idea to spread the word around.

So how many lives will be lost or destroyed in 3 years? How much money will be pocketed by the corrupt Afghanistan and Pakistan leaders? Bring all our troops home now.

Stop the Killing, Obama. Saving American Face costs too much in lives and dollars! By the way, Get a New Puppet! Try one who has some Ethics if you can! Oh, nevermind! One tries to forget, but most Capitialists have NO Ethics! See how they all love the International Monetary Fund, World Bank, WTO and other instruments of
U.S.and other Capitalist Domination. I am too old to have much faith in American "leaders". We always get sold-out and now that China owns us who knows who will make the next deal! Warmongering does not become you, Obama, but I know you must serve the masters who put you in power. They all must do this. You are no different than the rest who serve the Reich! Who cares if you become a one-termer. You now have the ability and help to make billions into the future, but WHAT About US?

Great! It takes a true leader to finish the job. Thank you for everything you're doing to clean up the messes of the previous administration.

I'm looking forward to hearing more about the plan this evening. Ahhh, it feels to good to have a president who actually has a plan. Like it or not, it is a plan, and that's so much better than the cowboy's "dead or alive" rhetoric.

Why three years? Why not pull the troops out now and be done with this war. Why must the US involve itself in running another country?

Obama is such a naive fool. The terrorists live over there, and will just wait the Americans out.

2012 can't come soon enough so the country can rectify the Obama mistake. One term and out for the dithering socialist!
