Pelosi: Bush 'did not have a plan to get the job done'

Washington (CNN) - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued the following statement after President Obama's speech Tuesday night:

“President Obama inherited a deteriorating situation in Afghanistan because the Bush Administration did not have a plan to get the job done.

“Tonight, the President articulated a way out of this war with the mission of defeating Al Qaeda and preventing terrorists from using Afghanistan and Pakistan as safe havens to again launch attacks against the United States and our allies. The President has offered President Karzai a chance to prove that he is a reliable partner. The American people and the Congress will now have an opportunity to fully examine this strategy.

“Our troops in Afghanistan and around the world have performed excellently; they have done everything that has been asked of them. As always, we are grateful and respectful of the enormous sacrifices our men and women in uniform, and their families, have made.”

Everybody but the corporate republican MSM knew that. But they helped him along. Like CNN is doing now. Guess they have to appease their masters.

Bush and Cheney were the worst leaders this nation has ever had to endure. They were criminals who stomped all over our Constitution, started fraudulent wars, broke international law on torture, and made us untrustworthy in the eyes of our Allies. They should have both been impeached when the 9/11 Commission report came out.

Bush and Cheney destroyed this nation and President Obama stepped in just in time to stop a full-blown Depression not seen since President Hoover. President Obama inherited giant and complicated disasters of the Bush administration and President Obama is doing an outstanding job handling multiple crisis situations at once.

Criminal Cheney should keep his mouth shut for if it were not for President Obama's generosity, Cheney would have been prosecuted for his many crimes and be sitting in jail for the rest of his life.

President Obama is trying to end this Bush war that had no strategy, no funding, and no exit strategy. It was a typical idiot decision by Bush. President Obama is doing his best to restore America both at home and abroad.

True American patriots will rally behind our President as he tries to save our country, restore our economy, rebuild our image in the world, regain the trust of our Allies, and pass progressive legislation to better the lives of ALL Americans with real healthcare reform, new energy technologies, new job opportunities, and stop the racism and hate and lies and fear-mongering Republicans use to keep trying to use to destroy our nation further. They are traitors to America and we should get rid of these domestic terrorists in 2010 and 2012.

Cheney, McCain, McConnell, Boehner and the FOX fools are doing NOTHING for America but slandering our country, creating an environment of hate and violence, and trying to obstruct all progress to better America. These do-nothing liars should be tuned out and voted out of office so we can move forward with unity and real American values of caring for each other, compassion, support of the diversity of our country, and educated and honorable People who believe in honesty, morality, ethics and respectfulness.

The job that needed getting done for President Bush was Iraq. It was much more of a concern for a great period of time than Afghanistan. Because of President Bush's steadfast leadership we are now able to take troops from Iraq and allow us to increase the troop presence in Afghanistan. Let's hope we are as successful in Afghanistan as we were in Iraq. I have no reason to believe we will not be. Now we see a commitment to support our military efforts there.

Iraq was Bush's war and many people disagreed with it, ...BUT, many if not most Americans were in favor of our initial entering Afganistan to hunt for terrorists and it was Obama who volunteered to take up the Afganistan war when he was running for president. Seems he said at the time he would just relocate troops from Iraq, he didn't mention this significant increase of troops he's sending there did he? This isn't something he can pin on Bush, this is his decision, his war, his choice, his ownership, and his responsibility to bear, for once he can't hide behind the excuse of Bush for this one.

Bush had a plan! It was he and Dick's plan, but it was a plan. It didn't get any approval of congress or the american people like most of he and Dick's work, but they had plans. Their plan, what ever it was, considered nothing that needed approval or be revealed to the American people or congress, but let's not forget they had a plan. It may not even have been of their own, but it was a plan and with or without the peoples backing their agenda was going to be fufilled...and it was. Like it or not, it really doesn't matter any more. They got richer we got ripped off, lied to, and violated. Lady liberty got slapped by her pimp. We call him uncle sam. And like any other by-stander, we stood by and watched. The whole world did. Yet, like any given situation what really can you do besides hope your vote doesn't get hacked? So what if it did...where is your proof? Oh trust me...they had and have a plan!

This walkinhg scarecrow is a joke. Hey, Nancy go buy another $3K of flowers at tax payer expense.

If she had her way we would have failed in Iraq. I am certain she enjoyed the death toll. It made for great politics. This women is the worst person I have ever seen in politics.

Everything is Bush's problem including that he inherited a recession, and had to respond to unprecedented attack on US homeland within a few months of taking office. I don't remember Bush complaining about Clinton's mistakes or bad economic policies. Pelosi/Obama have to grow up and just take ownership of current situation and try to solve the issues instead of dancing around them and blame previous administration for everything.

"again" launch attacks against the United States and our allies! Wasn't 911 attacks carried out by "Saudi's"? The lies are endless, you know, I know, your mother knows, let's just all admit that 911 was an inside job! Just come clean traitors and we promise you that it will be painless.

Pelosi doesn't give a crap about servicemembers or mainstream America who have vehemently voiced their displeasure with her performance, rhetoric, and divisiveness, she only cares about her fellow Democrats.
At least President Bush made routine visits overseas to the troops on the front lines especially during holidays to demonstrate his support and gratitude.

Ms. Pelosi, President Obama has a plan for failure. I ask you: which is better: no plan or a plan that is bound to fail? Bush succeeded in Iraq and didn't finish the job in Afghanistan. But it appears Obama will exit the latter in 3 years no matter the situation on the ground. Who will tell the mothers of the dead why we stayed 3 more years and accepted failure and the loss of their children? What kind of plan is that?

Considering the Bush Adminstration completely dropped the ball, you would think Bush's sidekick - Mouth Cheney, would elzipo his moutho! Seems he continues to have diarrahea of the mouth! I guess there definitely is NO SHAME in Cheney, nor in Bush!! Afterall, they could NEVER do ANYTHING WRONG, could they??????????? #1: Started a war that should have NEVER been waged
#2: Left the American people trillions of dollars in debt for not only spending money on Iraq and Afghanastan, but allowing the economy to tank and now Americans CANNOT even find work, nevermind being able to get enough money together to even EAT! Many homeless middle class Americans, and many MORE poor/impoverished!
#3: Lied! and Lied! and LIED!!
#4: Thanks to Bush, thousand of Americans have lost their lives! Thousands upon Thousands are disabled
    Many have PTSD
    Many have committed suicide
Many will NEVER live a normal life after WAR

Absolutely no doubt that the USA needs to eradicate Al Quaeda in its nest in Pakistan with or without the cooperation of Pakistan. Also, it needs to make sure that Al Quaeda does not regroup in other places like Yemen.

Obama inherited a no-win situation in Afghanistan. I personally think we should have just gone after Al-Quaida and not tried to remake the entire country, and Bush's claims of victory there were definitely very premature. So Obama inherited a mess. I just hope his strategy works. As he said, we've spent a trillion dollars over there and have very little to show for it. I like the idea of some our congressmen of assessing a special tax to pay for the war. That would give many more Americans a vested interest in it. The idea of having future generations pay for our war is ridiculous. The Bush strategy of spending billions and at the same time cutting taxes has been a disaster. Many of the same people who don't believe in health care for our people support the war. Let them start paying for it!!

So what has been preventing Obama and your Congress from creating such a plan...healthcare? It's been 11 months and the most notable war/peace related event in America has been the beer summit...

    Senator Pelosi:

You do not have to start with "Bush ..." that is too old. Bush was..., Bush did .... Bush did not ... whatever those are the reasons that Obama got elected. And now, is how your dear sweet Obama will make it works, why, and what you support, what is your idea, ..... Do not just say nice things to our men and women but do something for them, use your brain, your experience, your gut, your principle to come up with idea and strategy. Do not try to bend your spine please.
