White House will adjust security procedures

Washington (CNN) – The White House is adjusting its security protocol to prevent uninvited guests from crashing future events, a top administration official announced Wednesday.

Going forward, White House staff will be stationed at security checkpoints alongside U.S. Secret Service agents, Deputy Chief of Staff Jim Messina said in a memo posted on the White House Web site.

"Guests will be checked off of the list by White House staff and the Secret Service will continue to ensure that all guests have been properly cleared before entering the White House," Messina wrote in the memo. "Guests whose names are not on the guest list will be assisted by White House staff present at the check point for appropriate resolution."

"As always, the Secret Service will provide security and remain ultimately responsible for controlling access to the White House complex," Messina added.

The White House is American's House. These individuals that questionably were "dinner crashers" are both US Citizens and that is just as much their house as it is Obama's. In fact, I personally believe that a couple form the general population of U.S. citizens should always be invited to any White House function or dinner. Sure they should be subjected to security screening like everyone else to ensure the safety of the dignitaries there. Again, what a nice gesture it would be for a dignitary to actually meet a person who is paying the bills of the USA, for his state dinner, and for any aid that may be coming his/her way. Perhaps that would being back the personal touch to what America really is. It is either that or the Washington Untouchables win again and could care less about the average American or the conditions under which we must live. The White House is American's House, all Presidents should remember that.

Maybe rather than "adjust" it should be stated bluntly in that this WH will now return to what has been previously done by all other administrations after this group in the Social Secretary's office decided to change standard operating procedures

Secret Service should have quickly escorted and REMOVED the party crasher couple OUT while invited guests were being seated and well BEFORE the First Family and the Prime Minister arrived.

This couple should have NEVER gotten past the FIRST security check point. It made the Secret Service look like a bunch of fumbling punks!!!

Well, those two fame seeking, lying fools wanted attention-and now they have it. Wonder if it's all they dreamed it would be? Arrest them-they trespassed their way into our House!

What does the six-pointed star, on the back of the Dollar Bill represent? I have only heard of that being symbolic of Witchcraft, or Zionists. Why does the United States use it?

You cannot fix a problem when you have no idea what the problem is. Those words about "uninvited guests" and "crashing future events" are insulting and show a lack of understanding about what happened. Two security breaches on the same night resulted in two intruders penetrating deep enough into the White House to hold the president's hand. Human error is to blame and their fix is to double the number of humans involved? I thought Obama was going to be the first president to use technology daily. Time has come to use technology to identify all people who show up at the gate.
