Washington (CNN)– Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele called for a Senate Ethics Committee hearing to evaluate any possible wrongdoing by Sen. Max Baucus Saturday.

In a statement released by the RNCĀ  Steele said:

"Today's report that Senator Max Baucus used his Senate office to advance a taxpayer funded appointment for his staff-member girlfriend raises a whole host of ethical questions. This issue demands the attention of the Senate Ethics Committee. They should hold a hearing to identify who was involved in this process, what they knew and when they knew it, and why Senator Baucus put his personal needs above those of the people of Montana."

The republican BOY just has to make himself seem relevant somehow. Let's dig into who, what, when, where, and why Steele did in Maryland all those years. I lived there, and there were rumors.

Will the media hound Brokaw the way they did Tiger? Doubt it. They protect their own.

andrewstl: Yes the whole democratic congress are a joke. Plus when is Obama going to learn how to run this country? Can't make decisions, over one trillion dollars in the deficit and Afgan will be another Vietnam is he sends more troops. And that is no joke.

And where was the RNC in the ethics question when Haliburton was making billions in Iraq?. GOP has -0- credibility when it comes to ethics.

He's an ugly one. The Republicans are going to use him and
toss him to the wolves when they are done using him as their puppet!

Thanks for your input, Mr. Steele, but most Americans are smarter
    than you!

gary davis harbor oregon: Steele don't have to be checked out. He was born in this country and that's the difference between him and Obama who many believe he was born in Kenya. Or didn't you know that? Of courst his mother whisked him out of the hospital before they could register him, flew to Hawaii and had doctor she knew register him there. Give me a break. Where have you been?

look who's calling the kettle black: It doesn't matter if she didn't take the job. He wanted her in that position. However, there probably would have been an investigation as to why? And why not. Why should he appoint his live-in-girlfriend for that job? And why didn't he stay married to his wife? Wanted a younger woman. He was going with her while he was married but won't admit that. And that woman is no better than him.

Indict Ensign before you go looking elsewhere.

Speaking of indictments - how about Shooter and W. When will we learn about that major investigation into their crimes?

S.M.R. There is no legislation submitted by the Democrats that would benefit any American. The healthcare bill is the biggest joke of all. The taxpayers in this country are not aware of what is stated in this bill and never will know. They have the public fooled with their government controlled healthcare. Get a grip. This is the more corrupt congress in American history. Two republicans ran for governor and won. That is just the beginning.
