Cooperation with Pelosi pivotal to Obama

The day after President Obama's inauguration, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi described herself as 'on a high.'

(CNN) - The day after President Obama's inauguration, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi described herself as "on a high."

"I am very excited about the prospect of serving as the Speaker of the House with President Barack Obama because of the power of his ideas, the strategic thinking that he brings to it and the leadership that he provides to speak to the American people," the California Democrat said.

Obama laid out his agenda for the country and his plan to bring about the change he promised during the campaign. Still glowing from the elections, Pelosi said, "my attitude is to take his lead."

In the 10 months since then, Pelosi has successfully done what she's needed to do to push Obama's agenda through the House - so much so, that some have asserted she's more effective than the president.

I WILL thank Nancy Pelosi for standing by the President, and in so doing offering him the support that EVERY new President should have in order to find solutions and implement ideas. This type of support was and is especially critical for a President trying to avert an economic national and worldwide Depression. The Democrats have acted like selfish cowards for the most part of the 11 months that Obama has been in office. And there is no need to point out that the GOP has been nothing but obstruction personified. So yes, thank you Nancy. We have a very hard working man in the Presidency, who is intelligent and compassionate and all his Party has done is let him be the bullseye of unwarranted hate, criticism and distractions. They've left him flapping in the wind to go at it alone, but are quick to claim any credit by association to be had from him. Our glorious political system at it's best.

I wouldn't say she is more effective than the President. However I will say I wish she were Senate Majority Leader and Harry Reid was Speaker of the House. We need a voice like her's in the Senate.

Good Job Nancy – and forget the nay sayers. They had 8 years and what did they do? Ran the nation into the ground and bankrupted our country. No wonder they are upset that you are effective! Obama has a great partner and we are so proud of you.

If Pelosi is pushing progressive legislation through the House, then good for her. There is no competition among patriots, only cooperation. If only the Senate was as productive.

And the Senate is America's biggest problem. The American Senate has not missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity since 1865 – except for a few years during the Eisenhower Administration when Lyndon Johnson was the Majority Leader.

It does the nation little good for Obama and Pelosi to push for desperately needed reforms while the American Senate dawdles, blunders, blusters, stalls, and delays action.

The day after President Obama's inauguration, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi described herself as "on a high."

So, that is the problem with liberals, they are all high. That is why I call them dems-on-crack instead of democrats, because they are all high and have no clue as to what they are doing. I think the idiots that keep voting for these clowns are high as well.

    Who writes this stuff?

This writer would have you believe that Obama must kiss the ring on Pelosi's finger to get anything done.

World to CNN: Pelosi is Obama's Emanuel in the house.

I've noticed that whenever you hear the phrase "the American people", you can ignore everything else. It's just a campaign speech.

The problem with Pelosi is that she's a fanatic. Fundamentally, she doesn't care what Americans want, she's just determined to impose on us what she thinks we ought to have.

An author named Robert Heinlein once had one of the characters in one of his books say, "There is no greater tyranny than to force a man to pay for what he does not want because you think it would be good for him.” By that definition, the US, under people like Pelosi, is fast becoming a tyranny. How else would you describe conditions where Americans are compelled to pay for a health care entitlement scheme a majority does not want, and from which only a small minority will benefit, just because a few people in Congress think we ought to be forced to have it?

A little advice to President Obama...his polling numbers are dropping fast. That's important because with that drop comes a loss of political pull with politicans that could be swayed in his direction.

A close relationship with a very unpopular Speaker of the House will only further weaken his position. Whether you like him or not as the President, he played the political game very well during his campaign. I'm not sure where his head is here but the ship is sinking fast and he's tying himself to an anchor.

President Pelosi, since the do nothing man you guys is elected is a better delegater than leader. Guess you didn't know your vote for Obama was actually for Nancy Botoxi. We can only hope nutty San Francisco gets off their drugs and votes her out. She is so out of touch with reality it is down right scary. In the middle of a recession this woman has no problem spending 3,000 of TAX payers money on flowers. We have all had to cut back, why do these people even have the right to waste our money.

If Obama's cooperation with this ultra-liberal is so pivotal, then our country is in real trouble. The agenda they have for the country will bankrupt us for good. We are quickly approaching the point of no return, where it will not be possible for us to EVER get out from under the debt that was created by the Bush admin and is being created by the current one. God help us all!

Obama's mentor was Ted Kennedy. Ted's ideals were akin to that of our President. Ted is gone. Nancy is a very strong woman, which I personally admire, but I do not believe that her ideals are totally in line with Obama's to the degree that Ted's were. However, she knows Washington, she sees what the President is trying to accomplish and she is on board with it, but Nancy is NOT in charge. Obama is intelligent, focused, and confident. He will listen to input but ultimately he will call the shots.

Two peas in the left wing pod. How about a reality check here. Much of America is in the middlle on social isssues. These two are pushing an agenda that much of us don't agree with. Even many in their own party don't fully agree with them. It's time to take a breath and slow down....

Isn't Pelosi outta there in Nov 2010? She's not popular even in her home district. There's not so many Americans who want to destroy our country just so the socialists Obama and Pelosi can have their way with us.
