Bank of America: Paid in full

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) - Billions of dollars in bailout money received by Bank of America over the past year is now officially back in government hands.

Just a week after announcing plans to repay $45 billion in aid from the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP), the nation's largest lender said Wednesday it had cut a check to the government for the full amount.

"We owe taxpayers our thanks for making these funds available to the nation's financial system and to our company during a very difficult time," Bank of America CEO Ken Lewis said in a statement.

Paid in full on the backs of all of its customers, using increased fees, increased interest rates and deceptive practices. I think Bank America and all other banks who took bail out funds should be investigated and taken over by the government, its the only way the people will get accountabilty or transperancy.

They paid it back from the outrageous fees this bank charges.....everyone should join together and find other banks with lower fees....teach BOA a lesson in greed.

Okay – so now start loaning money to small businesses instead of giving out FAT BONUSES!!!

Bank of America is a great example of a proud American company. It's a sign that people like me may have been wrong when we opposed the stimulus package.

They were able to pay it back by bilking it out of Americans. Their thanks (as well as their name) is a slap in the face of real Americans. Bank of America is the same bank that made supporters remove American flags from its property that were lined up along a parade route for a fallen soldier (because they said the American flags were offensive!)!!

Hey, how about giving us a decent loan and not at loan shark rates. I am ashamed that the government gave you a loan, while the rest of the people suffer. If BofA were to be approved under the criteria that it applies to borrowers, you would have been flatly denied. Please don't thank us, you are just a hypocrite.

And here's how you SHOW your thanks:

    Stop gambling with people's money!
    Think long-term!
    Be responsible!

And don't EVER let this happen again!

Congratulations to all those Bank of America Customers, who had your credit card interest rates and other loan rates raised, for all of the "service fees" you paid, and for every penney you had to scrape up, in this time of SEVERE RECESSION, to bail out Bank of America, and allow them to repay the Government billions of dollars!! It ceases to amaze me how the American Taxpayers were the ones that were hit the hardest with all of these additional fees!! Shall I congratulate Bank of America??? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! ALONG WITH ALL BANKS, THEY CONTINUE TO TAKE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE TO THE CLEANERS!!!!! Nevermind all of the new laws to try to reign them in!! They are finding every loophole possible to continue to sock it to us!!! And that will continue!!! We are at their mercy, plain and simple!!!!!
