Palin calls for Obama to boycott climate change conference

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption="Palin is calling on President Obama to boycott the Copenhagen climate change conference next week."](CNN) –Sarah Palin has taken to the Washington Post op-ed page to urge President Barack Obama to cancel his scheduled appearance at the Copenhagen climate change conference next week.

Referencing private e-mails from climate change scientists at a research facility in Britain that were hacked and published on the Internet late last month, Palin said now is not the time for the President to show his support for the "radical environmental movement."

"Instead of staying home from Copenhagen and sending a message that the United States will not be a party to fraudulent scientific practices, the president has upped the ante, Palin writes. "He plans to fly in at the climax of the conference in hopes of sealing a 'deal.' Whatever deal he gets, it will be no deal for the American people."

Palin added Obama's underlying political objective is to increase pressure on Congress to pass the Democrats "cap and trade" energy proposal that is expected to be debated early next year.

"This is a political move. The last thing America needs is misguided legislation that will raise taxes and cost jobs - particularly when the push for such legislation rests on agenda-driven science," writes Palin. "Without trustworthy science and with so much at stake, Americans should be wary about what comes out of this politicized conference. The president should boycott Copenhagen."

At the vice presidential debate last year, Palin said she was for capping carbon emissions but did not elaborate on how she would do that.

Welcome to the 21st century republican politics of smear/ distortions.
What the big-oiled republican machine is doing to the global warming problem is exactly what was done to ACORN to destroy and bring it down by setting up a sting of" pimp and prostitute" to crash their offices nation-wide. The US media was played along to cover that non-stop.
Talk of "liberal media" is a myth.

I'm looking at that picture of Palin... despite being dumb as a box of rocks, she is very pretty.

And this from someone from a state where the climate is steadily growing warmer at an alarming rate, an ecosystem so delicate that any changes are hugely consequential, and who does not have a clue about anything. The woman suffers from a constipated brain along with diarrhea of the mouth...terrible combination. By the way, does anyone else notice how hard and haggard-looking she's become?

Having lived for over 30 years in the north of Scandinavia I have witnessed climate change and many of the effects on the nature here in the taiga belt. This is not a question of the radical enivornmental movement, rather a question of the radical stupidity movement of which Sarah Palin has a realistic chance of running and winning the presidency of.

Well of course she does. She doesn't believe in evolution, thinks CO2 is a natural gas and therefore not harmfull, likewise doesn't believe in global warming, so naturally the highly educated Obama should accept her somewhat limited world view. More Republican "My way or the highway" approach to cross party-politics. Republicans- it isn't 1880 anymore...

To all the "Flat Earth People" like Sarah Palin:

If those of us who believe the scientific evidence are wrong, the very worst that can happen is that we generate renewable forms of energy. Fossil fuels are being depleted at a rapidly increasing rate.

If those of you who refuse to believe the science are wrong and we fail to invest in renewable forms of energy, we will destroy much – if not all – of the Earth.

Either way, fossil fuel sources will be depleted. Future generations will curse us in the darkness to the bitter end for being so ignorant.

That's their story and they're sticking to it. The spotlight of truth just keeps on exposing the bad science and alarmist policies of this administration. They will NEVER admit that the science is JUNK.

    Hoax and Change.

Radical environmental movement?? I doubt Sarah Palin has ever heard of a science book, and certainly has never put in the effort to actually read it and make a valuable and logical conclusion from it!

.' Whatever deal he gets, it will be no deal for the American people."

Sarah, do you even know if he's going to make a deal? Do you know what the 'deal' is? Then shut up. You talk as if you suffered from some as yet undiagnosed form of adult ADD. AAAND...for someone who lives in Alaska to deny that global warming is taking place is beyond outrageous, it is irresponsible. How many polar bears do you have left up there nitwit?

Naturally, the President will make his decision to attend or not to attend with input from his advisors. Why is CNN giving creedance to Ms. Palin on this topic or any other? All that is being accomplished is creating an icon of an unqualified, outspoken and uninformed maverick.

Palin is an idiot and just looking at how she can get in the news. She has no idea what is going on. If the news would stop covering this moron she would go away. Nothing like a mother dragging her baby around in front of cameras to further her own ambitions.

I thought this woman was peddling her version of the Beverly Hillbillies story, how does she manage to get involved in this? She is effectively renewing her call to war against science and common sense. She is certainly a special kind of moron.

So the fraud, I mean, fraulein (Frau-Palin) and ex-everything else is concerned about scientific fraud while maintaining that her supporters have a right to question Obama's birth certificate. Pretty obvious she supports that bit of fraud. And besides, who are we to even talk about fraud – quite abundant in America, I'd say. Right, Mr. Madoff, Wall Street and financial institutions?

Could someone please make this HACK go away. Your Opinions on Climate change are pretty clear to the american people, NO CHANGE. You would rather drill more holes in the Earth then to find real solutions to problems. Anyone can tell that weather patterns on the Earth have Changed greatly in the past two Decades and that there has been a Warming of the Earth due to Carbon Emissions. Go back to School beatuy queen and get a real education, then maybe you can be in charge of something being then Alaska and maybe you won't quit half way through.

I wish it were possible to wall off the people who believe that global warming is a hoax and let them suffer the consequences of their convictions without harming the rest of us. Unfortunately, it isn't.
