Palin calls for Obama to boycott climate change conference

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption="Palin is calling on President Obama to boycott the Copenhagen climate change conference next week."](CNN) –Sarah Palin has taken to the Washington Post op-ed page to urge President Barack Obama to cancel his scheduled appearance at the Copenhagen climate change conference next week.

Referencing private e-mails from climate change scientists at a research facility in Britain that were hacked and published on the Internet late last month, Palin said now is not the time for the President to show his support for the "radical environmental movement."

"Instead of staying home from Copenhagen and sending a message that the United States will not be a party to fraudulent scientific practices, the president has upped the ante, Palin writes. "He plans to fly in at the climax of the conference in hopes of sealing a 'deal.' Whatever deal he gets, it will be no deal for the American people."

Palin added Obama's underlying political objective is to increase pressure on Congress to pass the Democrats "cap and trade" energy proposal that is expected to be debated early next year.

"This is a political move. The last thing America needs is misguided legislation that will raise taxes and cost jobs - particularly when the push for such legislation rests on agenda-driven science," writes Palin. "Without trustworthy science and with so much at stake, Americans should be wary about what comes out of this politicized conference. The president should boycott Copenhagen."

At the vice presidential debate last year, Palin said she was for capping carbon emissions but did not elaborate on how she would do that.

Fortunately, President Obama has vision beyond 'Drill baby, drill'. The morons who claim jobs will be lost from cap and trade would have America buying clean energy technology from China.

Sarah Palin, spearheading the dumbing-down of America. Her "popularity" is proof that a small faction of society doesn't care that a prospective political candidate is dumber than they are. I just won't vote for somebody less intelligent than myself. And I'm no genius, but I could never feel safe knowing somebody with the IQ of a moose is calling the shots somewhere. I think there are still enough smart, sane people to see that Palin is nothing more than a circus-freak.

Who on Earth is Sarah Palin? Oh, wait. Isn't she the Playmate journalist who became a Governor and then was picked by the Gestapo to run as a VP candidate and was flushed down the toilet of history? Oh, so that's her! Yikes! – why is she doing anything remotely related to climate change? She is not even smart enough to understand the impact that hot weather has on an exposed cup of ice. This idiot can't even answer straight debate questions without a 3 X 5 card with pre-printed answers. I'll bet that a 4th grader knows more about climate change than this Betty Crocker fill-in.

Great picture of Palin by the way; caked on make up trying to cover up the wrinkles...haha

Well palin never really elaborates on anything she ever planned to do, Miss "bridge to nowhere". She can complain about everything the President does but she can't give details. Give up palin, at this point you are no better than rush and hannity.

Shame on the Washington Post for giving a forum to this imbecile. She should go back to Alaska and keep to things she knows. Her credibility is non-existent. Anyone who listens to her ridiculous assertions is as stupid as she is.

    Again ....
Sarah's commenting on topics she has no real knowledge of or understanding of.

She still doesn't believe the scientific facts of the creation of the world and evolution.

The release of the e-mails doesn't immediately discount the results ... just cast a shadow upon them.

By the way, take a look at her eyes in that picture of her with the military hat on, they look demented and unfocused, just like her rhetoric.

Somebody needs to ask to explain this nonsense of how free-market selling of environmental permits raises taxes and costs jobs. It clearly will create jobs and it MAY raise PRICES not taxes. But then again, complaining about your utility bill does not carry the same weight as complaining about Washington.

why is sarah palin even allowed to comment anymore??? hey media, do you remember less than a year ago, she ABANDONED her governor seat to pursue SELFISH MONEY MAKING interests. She has NO RIGHT to tell ANYONE in politics what to do. And yeah, we have some serious environmental problems on our hands; everyone on the right is just looking for some way to justify the irresponsible activities that we have been allowing to happen that pollute our world.

Anything that Sister Sarah is that vehemently opposed to is probably a good idea. Also, "sound science" is a discredited pubber buzzword that means "sounds like it's good for the GOP".

It looks like the researchers in question may well be guilty of academic fraud. It's happened in other fields as well; remember the Korean cloning fraud? It doesn't disprove all the other of research, nor does it change the fact of melting icecaps and the warmest decade on record.

Sarah, Sarah, Sarah, just go back to attracting attention and making money. Public policy is not your thing.

What have Republicans done to deserve picking up any seats in the House or Senate? All that they have done is to stand in the way of progress. They want things to continue the they were for the last eight years
