Cabinet members: Leave your BlackBerry at the door
Washington (CNN) - Cabinet members need to leave their BlackBerrys at the door in a basket when meeting with President Obama. Above: a White House video reveals the less than high-tech solution used to ensure Hillary Clinton doesn't leave with Eric Holder's phone.

Holder has a razor... talk about old school
I don't have a crackberry, just a cell phone that is actually just a freaking phone. These self important people who sit in meetings tapping away on their crackberries and all the rest of those things are annoying.
No guarantee there will be no leak, but assures that it won't get out by means of an "accidentally" turned on BlackBerry. I just love Obama's practicality!

Rice has an Official – State Business phone and the other two are the phones Tiger should have been using.
That's a good solution for him to ensure they're not distracted and are paying attention to the matter at hand. Blackberry's can be a distraction.

Ho hum. Another boring non-news story. Although .... it does beat the daily dose of Palin nonsense and noise.
Exactly why is this news? We have to turn off/put away all electronic devices (phones, pagers, laptops) when we get on airplanes. I'm fairly sure that putting away Blackberrys for classified national security meetings is a reasonable request.
Unbelievable..... just one example of a typical democrat solution..... chaos. What hapened to turning off the Blackberry while meeting with the President?????????? Is that too simple for democrats?
The reason they may not have a phone is because they could record a private conversation that further reveals the Marxist plan.
This looks like an appropriate use of a tech system that ensures they get the right phone upon exit.

I think they have to leave them in the basket so they don't cause interference with Obama's telepromter...much like you can't use phones during flight because they interefere with navigational instruments. Otherwise, how would he know what to say?

So much for tansparency. No cameras, no phones, no public. Everything is a back room deal again. Yes, it happened during Bush. Those who complained about it, and now support Obama doing it, are a bunch of hypocrites. America first. Remind the government that they work for us, not the oter way around.
The president can do it- so can you! Cell phones are the biggest detraction from collaboration. They should be banned in all meetings!
I am insulted every time someone chooses to look down at their electronics instead of talk directly to me!

With todays technology anything could happen with BlackBerrys or any other hidden communication/listening devises and they should be checked in at the door.
