Are Americans upset with banks? What about Americans upset with Congress? Trillions of dollars disappearing into THAT black hole is WAY more upsetting than a million dollar bonus. Congressional spending has become a complete outrage.

We watched President Obama's interview with Steve Croft of "60 Minutes".

President Obama is right, BANKS & Wall Street do not get it! They are still in the GREED business, what else is new?

Far-right-folks call President Obama a socialist (and worse) however, you people show your ignorance by calling the president a socialist!

IF President Obama was a true socialist....... the banks & Wall Street would not be in the business of greed any longer!

WOW. Kettle, hi it's the Pot? Talk about not getting it.

Does he understand why the Amercian people are mad at him and congress? SPENDING. STOP IT STOP IT STOP IT.
We can not afford it it. How do they not get that? It is mind numbing.

As far the banks, didn't we just have the real estate market crash and a BIG part of it was the federal government TELLING the banks that they need to be lenient with their lending practices, hence all the bad policies and loans?
And he is telling them to do it again? Why? Because he FORCED alot of them to take federal money so he can give the illusion of control.

    VOTE THEM ALL OUT

  5. and they won't until...

even up to the day before you fire them, and you most likely will have to be the one, the boards of directors are too chicken

the CEOs and CFOs are making too much money for doing nothing

all of them think they have some corner on the insight into the Big Picture, thinking that makes them special and cannot be replaced

EVERY ONE IS REPLACABLE, fire them and bring in some people that actually know how to do analysis

The question is "Does Obama get it"? All of his proposals require a tax increase. Does he think people don't notice this. There is not one peice of legislation that he endorses that does not cost money, and therefore raise taxes.

  9. Randolph Carter. I'm no expert but...

Well, thank goodness the recession is over. I was getting a little concerned for the richest 5% of Americans for a while there. Imagine if they would have had to cancel little Madeline's ballet classes and little Trevor's French lessons. I don't know how anyone could bear that. We all need to do our part to ease their suffering. Have a nice day!

Obama doesn't get it! What are they supposed to lend money again to people who can't pay it back? Isn't that what got us into this mess? Small businesses don't need loans............we need business. Sure give us a loan as long as we don't have to pay it back.

Dude, can't you come up with something origianl???? Suze Orman said that. You are supposed to be smart....why do you need to steal other's ideas?

Why don't YOU get that we are just as upset with YOU becuase you are trying to void the Consitution, enslave us to debt, and spending $$$ we don't have....how many banks are YOUR lobbyists?

It's not that bankers "don't get it", as the president says. It's that they don't care. Greed doesn't care about anything but getting more. It's sociopathic behavior. Big bankers are true sociopaths, just like serial killers. Nothing exists in their world except their own desires, and no law or restriction will be acceptable.

There is, of course, one major problem with bringing these guys to heel. They own congress.

Tme to bring back monopoly laws back.To big to fail means it needs to be split up to protect ourselfs from that much greed. They need to be differnce between banks and investment firms and a strong line between them.banks loan money and make money from interest, and investment firms invest cash into there projects to make there money. The two should never be under the same roof.

What the banks don't get is that a dictator is here to dictate terms to all for-profit businesses!

That's okay for obama don't get it to on how to fix the economy. And you obama fans don't say it's all George Bush fault too, for your democrats have been in power since 2006 so this is their failure too and considering where the meltdown started, it lands at their feet.

The argument of the bankers are government has no right to tell them what to do or to regulate them but they have the right to take enormous irresponsible risks and loose, treat the hole economy to collapse and take tax payers money to survive and after survival trying to screw the same people that helped them survive.
It's the story of the lion that falls into a hole and was helped out and once out want to eat the some mokey that helped him out.

First, the banks were too loose and now the administration is critcizing them for being too tight. I'm no fan of banks but i think Obamanomics uses the demonizing tactics too loosely. Loose lending and near zero interest rate got us into a major financail bubble in the first time, lets not repeat the mistake and create another one. Obamanomics, aka, swing wildly and see what hits is irresponsible and has no fundamentals to it. Unless, the administration is looking to establish another Bashing card to play in 2012. Bush Bashing has lost its novelty so I guess is now Wallstreet and Big business Bashing. Make no mistakes, Big businesses create nearly 20-30% of the jobs in this country and funds much of this governement. Like them or hate them, they are partners in this thing we called the US economy.

OBAMA doesn't get it. It was the likes of Dodd and Franks which set things in motion with their misguided belief that everyone should own a home, even if they couldnt afford it.

The President is right the banks don't get it.

However, it is important to note that in some ways the White House doesn't get it either. They fail to realize that they are partly responsible for having given away all this money to the banks without setting any guidelines or conditions. What were they thinking? It's time to get rid of Geithner and every other knuckle head that was involved in this huge fiasco.

The clueless president is in no position to tell others "they do not get it" - it worked in the campaign against McCain in a cruel way exploiting the guy's old age, but now we know who gets what and who does not get it!

I am not a fan of the banks and they should have been allowed to fail just like any other bankrupt business. BHO don't get it either. Like a spoiled child that does what he wants, the banks are doing what they want. Between GWB and BHO, we have shown these sorry slugs that they are in control. BHO is trying to hold it over their heads, and they are just laughing at him. If he thinks anything is more important to banks than stock price, shareholder dividends, and heavy compensation to executives I guess he don't get out much.
