Schwarzenegger slams Palin

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is questioning the motives of a felllow Republican, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

(CNN) - California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger – who has backed strict new emissions controls to combat climate change – made a comment Tuesday that's sure to raise some heat, especially in GOP circles.

The Republican governor of California is questioning the motives of a high-profile opponent of the idea: Sarah Palin.

The former Republican vice presidential nominee and former Alaska governor has questioned whether human activity contributes to climate change, and written op-eds blasting the cap and trade policy promoted by the Obama administration to limit emissions. Last week, she called on President Obama to boycott the Copenhagen conference.

"You have to ask: what was she trying to accomplish?" Schwarzenegger, in Copenhagen for the international climate change summit, told the Financial Times. "Is she really interested in this subject or is she interested in her career and in winning the (Republican presidential) nomination? You have to take all these things with a grain of salt."

Palin, dubbed a climate change "denier" by Al Gore, slammed the former vice president for promoting "doomsday scenarios": "Climate change is like gravity – a naturally occurring phenomenon that existed long before, and will exist long after, any governmental attempts to affect it," she wrote in a Facebook post last week.

Palin barely passed her college requirements and was a mayor of a town the size of a local community. She was governor of a state with 600,000 plus she is a quitter. She has no scientific experience and like other stupid politicians ignores the facts to push a political agenda.

Better check with Obama, the prince of prevarication and twister of facts, on this one! 🙂

I loved Sarah's book–especially the chapter about when she found out that Trig had Down's Syndrome. Her love and devotion to him is evident–and what a tribute this is to her as a person. She is NOT stupid–and the Governor of California should follow the example that she set as Governor of Alaska and his state would not be in the hole that it is in.

Who did the better job as Governor–of course Sarah Palin did. Don't under estimate her!!!! She could be the Democrats worst nightmare. And you people that continually watch articles about her so that you can say "Oh Please make her go away".–shouldn't even read about her if you are so "sick" of her. My thoughts is that you can't wait for something to be written about her so that you can make your stupid comments!!!!

Well said, Arnold. If Palin had ever lived in a state with real traffic and real industry, she would know about pollution. Had she ever lived near a coal operation, she would know about lung cancer. Had she ever lived in a big city, she would recognize smog. But, since little 'ol Sarah is from big old cold and basically uninhabited Alaska, she thinks that clean air and water are God's gift to her, just like she is His gift to the rest of us. The gift that keeps on giving all right.

Hey, mjm: I think you mean "hole," not "whole" (duh). This suggests that you are about as smart as Sarah Palin. I will show you Barak Obama's birth certificate, if you show me Sarah Palin's high school diploma.

I too also think Mr. Gore exagerated alot of climate change...though I admit Ms. Palin had no impact on my own thoughts....I think too many people have gone on this wagon not truely concerned for God's great land but instead for the dollars they can line for their pockets. WE (all people, in all nations) are the keepers of this earth and have a conscious obligation to be it's protector but not to the level we can 'predict' the future..that is not our domain..our domain is to live on this earth respectfully of both nature and man.

During her short and abridged time as governor of Alaska, Palin devoted state funds to study the impact of rising temperatures on her state, and ways to deal with that situation. Because she believed that temperatures had risen faster than any recent natural cycles.

(She also lauded the work of the Alaska Independence Party in their effort to push a vote for separation from the United States)

Now that she's running for President, she needs the votes from Rush Nation. So she has to refute anything based on scientific evidence, including her own personal history. She's probably got Karl deleting all her old emails as we speak.

Wow, it is amazing to watch the left attack this woman. She is obviously intelligent and and a good speaker. Can anyone deny that the climate has always changed before humans were even here to affect it? I would rather have someone like Palin, who comes from the real world (as the founders of the constitution desired) than all the Dodds and Franks who have think we serve them, rather than them serving us. Democratic control of all 3 branches of government are going to bankrupt this nation. The polls show people are getting wiser, don't see much that on this blog yet...

The entire topic of whether or not human activity affects climate change is moronic. We know that methane gas is 23 times more damaging to the environment and lasts longer than carbon emissions. The solution, FREE and IMMEDIATE is to stop eating meat. No one can critcize that as too expensive. Al Gore flies in his private jet all over the globe, touting himself as Mr. Environment, while he lives in a very wasteful house and eats meat. Obama wants Cap and Trade but he also has an anti-environmental diet. Time to wake up folks: the government can't get the job done, only people can. STOP EATING MEAT. It's simple. It's healthy. It's economical. Forget our "leaders" – they're clueless.

I hope she could understand what climate change is about. Its really scary that someone who`s planing to run for office is in denial about something so important. I hope she stay in Alaska hunting....

This from a Governor of the most bankrupt state in the union???? LOLOLOLOL! Californians are the biggest bunch of losers I have ever seen. The whole state is just one big WELFARE drain on this nation.

btw – full disclosure.. I am not a Palin fan either. I just think it is hilarious that Arnold is lecturing anyone as he sees his state sink faster than the Titanic under debt... much of which is caused by all of these greener and social programs that they can't sustain. Just don't pass your debt onto the other 49 States please.

"My relationship to power and authority is that I'm all for it. People need somebody to watch over them. Ninety-five percent of the people in the world need to be told what to do and how to behave."

That's it sheep- pick a leader and follow. Bush, Palin, Schwarzenegger, Obama- they're all heading in the same direction.

Sarah Palin is a "God warrior". She, like many other conservatives, believes that Jesus gave us this planet with more than enough resources to carry us. It's a standard religious belief that we will be provided for, no matter what.

What she may not have gotten, though, is that all religions have statements in their "bibles" saying that we have to make our own way in the world, and to take care of what we've been given.

Gotta love it when people use religion to manipulate their position.

Sadly, I find myself on the same side of the debate as Failin' Palin. She's right about the science behind "global warming", but I'm still going to go home, take a couple of Tylenol, go to bed and hope that she's gone when I wake up tomorrow.

This just shows the stupidity of that woman. If she runs for President again in 2012, it will be a landslide by Democrats. There is only air between her ears. She is the biggest joke for a politican I have ever heard. Her views are like a 6th grade student that cannot spell. She is not qualified for anything in politics and needs to go back to being a soccer mom. Did she just forget about her kids or what? She is also a lousy parent to her new son. Putting politics before her own son is shameful since she is traveling all over the country and he needs her more than politics need her. I better stop here before I continue and then decide to throwup!
