Schwarzenegger slams Palin

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is questioning the motives of a felllow Republican, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

(CNN) - California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger – who has backed strict new emissions controls to combat climate change – made a comment Tuesday that's sure to raise some heat, especially in GOP circles.

The Republican governor of California is questioning the motives of a high-profile opponent of the idea: Sarah Palin.

The former Republican vice presidential nominee and former Alaska governor has questioned whether human activity contributes to climate change, and written op-eds blasting the cap and trade policy promoted by the Obama administration to limit emissions. Last week, she called on President Obama to boycott the Copenhagen conference.

"You have to ask: what was she trying to accomplish?" Schwarzenegger, in Copenhagen for the international climate change summit, told the Financial Times. "Is she really interested in this subject or is she interested in her career and in winning the (Republican presidential) nomination? You have to take all these things with a grain of salt."

Palin, dubbed a climate change "denier" by Al Gore, slammed the former vice president for promoting "doomsday scenarios": "Climate change is like gravity – a naturally occurring phenomenon that existed long before, and will exist long after, any governmental attempts to affect it," she wrote in a Facebook post last week.

I knew there was a reason I loved this guy!

Finally someone from the Republican side that speaks the truth. Go Arnold.

Palin is from Alaska and ought to know first hand the effects of global warming.

What does Palin know about the subject (r any other subjects) anyway to have an opinion?

This is a matter of scienctific data and facts and not a personal opinion. I doubt that Sarah is remotely familiar with any of the data supporting the human role in global warming.

She scares me to death. Almost as much as Ahmadinejad. It certainly does not take a brain surgeon to see the obvious effects of human activity. My God the woman is out of her mind.

Good for Arnold! It is high time someone shut Palin up... I think she just goes along with what comes out of her mouth.. Her words must come out before her brain can think.

I wonder if Sarah Palin has figured out that she can't get elected pandering to the FAAAAAAR right of this country. She will have to move to center to have a chance. Yet everytime she opens her mouth she moves more to the right, right off her rocker!!!

Apparently Palin does not believe in the Einsteinian view of gravity – that it is a condition of time-space, and therefore doesn't exist per se. But don't tell her that – she'll start denying gravity as well.

His state is completely broke, and it did not get like that overnight. At one time he did try to reign in spending and tried to get the state to practice fiscal responsibility. When the unions rebelled and refused to go along Arnold caved and became a wimp. Now the the federal government has to pick up the tab for California's extreme excesses. Arnold gave up his principles so he could stay governor. I may not be a big Palin fan but where does this rino get off taking on Sarah. Arnie, retire and move to Massachuttes where you belong.

Arnold should quit with the damage he has done to cali... and this whole "global warming" crisis is a crock! For as long as the earth has been around the climate changes the earth changes... animals go extinct... WITH OR WITHOUT humans!!! There is NOTHING you can do to stop it! you can quit driving, you can recycle, etc. it won't change a thing... Sorry!!! Most of you should expect change... YOU VOTED FOR IT!

They have the IO of jello. Find some real news. He whole family sounds like ma and Pa kettle. Her folks are from Idaho the skin head neo nazi state so what do you expect.

We are seeing the results of global warming first-hand up here in the Arctic. The melting permafrost, animal behavior, and the melting polar ice cap are all signs that we'd better do something and fast.

Schwarzenegger hit the nail squarely on the head with Palin. Palin is about as incompetent as they come. I'm sure she is a good wife, mother and person. That said, however, her light bulb is kind of dim. What is a wonder is how the conservative movement has latched on to her as their savior. Lets see Limbuagh, Palin? Self centered, large ego's but put together you couldn't light a 10 watt light bulb.
