Bill Clinton lends a hand to Sen. Lincoln

Washington (CNN)– Former President Bill Clinton is lending a helping hand to Sen. Blanche Lincoln's re-election campaign in a fundraising e-mail sent out Thursday.

Clinton, who was governor of Arkansas for 12 of the 14 years prior to winning the White House, asked Lincoln's supporters stand beside her in her "tough fight" for re-election by donating to her campaign.

In the e-mail, Clinton also recalled how Lincoln fought for Arkansas when he was president.

"I remember all those times when I was in office and Blanche came to me with her 'to-do list' for Arkansas," He wrote. "...And most of those times, Blanche got what she asked for."

Lincoln, who is the first female Chair of the Senate Agricultural Committee, is seeking re-election to a third term.

I don't know why folks like this guy so much. He betrayed us many times in helping the "Contract ON (for) America" Republicans! I guess charisma often passes for authenticity and governance! Calling REAL Leaders! Oh, Nevermind! Until we get election reform, the money-changers won't let in 3rd parties! I totally almost forgot the democracy thing is a Farce!

Blanche needs to get on board the Progressive train or shw will be out of office. That goes for Landrieu, Nelson, Liberman and the rest of these centrists.

generally speaking, "scratch my back" philosophy is a system within a system, and if not abused, can be very helpful, particularly as the co-operating parties do their "scratching" for the benefit of the people who elected them..all seems rather denign..thats' why we have checks and balances..eh?

We can only hope the former liar in chief has the same success he had while helping democratic candidates in New Jersey and Virginia. The man needs to go hang himself somewhere and get out of our lives.

Pretty simple here folks. Lincoln votes for disastrous health bill she will be defeated in 2010 guarantee. 2 of every 3 Arkansas people are opposed to this bill.

There is something wrong with members of Congress that try to spend millions a dollars to get elected to a postion that plays $200,000. Senator Reid is going to spend 25 million dollars to get relected. Senator Lincoln is in a fight to get re-elected because she is supporting her party first, not the people of Arkansas (I am a resident of Arkansas). We need campaign financing and shorter campaigns. 25 million dollars would provide 400+ jobs (approximately $40K per year).

Sure help her out Slick Willy! I mean you did so well helping out those Democrat losers in NJ and Virginia!!

The Democrats appear to have all gone deaf, dumb and blind! They JUST DON'T GET IT.

If she votes for this healthcare disaster, she will lose her seat no matter WHAT Bill Clinton does or says on her behalf.

Even if Senator Lincoln is not in the news too much currently, regarding the work being done on Healthcare Reform in the Senate, let's not forget that she has been one of the biggest obstacles to the work being done on the bill and was completely against the Public Option in any form. So this I'll scratch your back because you scratched mine that is going in with her and former President Clinton should not matter one bit to the electorate in Arkansas. Let's get her out of there and get a more responsive Democrat in that office.

Mr. President, please don't give this DINO any support until/unless she supports real comprehensive health care reform!

The people in Arkansas do not want the government running healthcare or any variation proposed to date. If Lincoln votes for it she's done and the democrats know it. Clinton hasn't lived in Arkansas since 1992 and most people were roundly embarrased at his antics while in DC, although he did it much more while governor. Still his popularity here is not close to what it was.
