Liz Cheney echoes father

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/10/13/art.cheneys.gi.jpg caption="Liz Cheney is echoing her father's recent criticism of President Obama's response to the attempted terrorist attack on Christmas Day."](CNN) - Liz Cheney is echoing her father's recent criticism of President Obama's response to the attempted terrorist attack on Christmas Day, saying Wednesday the president has not taken sufficient national security steps in the wake of the botched plane bombing.

Cheney, the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney and the founder of the nonprofit group Keep America Safe, released a statement calling on President Obama to reverse his decision to close the detention facility in Guantanamo Bay, and to overrule the Justice Department's decision to try 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed before a civilian court in New York City.

Cheney also called on President Obama to classify the attempted Christmas Day bomber, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, as an enemy combatant to be tried before a military tribunal.

"President Obama has weakened American security by treating terror as a law enforcement matter, refusing to use every tool at his disposal to prevent attacks, and taking his eye off the ball. America's homeland security and counterterrorism systems will continue to erode in the absence of strong, consistent, unwavering presidential stewardship," said Cheney. "It's time for the President to make defending this nation his top priority."

Rich, connected, with nothing to contribute. Political hacks, chickenhawk cowards, who don't even come close to representing the American people.

Seriously, why do news outlets find this drivel newsworthy? This would be news: Cheney should be tried for war crimes, and his daughter would one day be visiting him in prison.

Apparently there is NO chance that these silly people will ever go
away? You notice we NEVER hear anything from George Bush. I am sure he knows what a complete mess of things his administration made, and he is just happy to be back cutting brush. That is exactly what Dick Cheney should also do. And take his daughter with him.

I think we should declare Dick Cheney as an enemy combatant and try him for war crimes. Torture is a war crime and a form of terrorism.

When you're elected to office Liz, then you can make decisions. In the mean time, take a seat. I'm sure you think bombs are the answer to every problem, but when it comes to interrogation, torture doesn't work. The good cop in the good cop/bad cop routine is the one who gets answers, remember that. Your father played the bad cop, Obama is the good cop.

If these two characters are so wise, why are they both left out in the cold like the rest of the idiots of the Bushadministration? Both should move into the Haliburton Building somewhere in the Middle East and avoid taxes. Take Limbaugh and Steele with 'em!

she is a fool , what does she know about politics or foreign affairs .I'm sick ,and tired of the none sense that happened in this country ,it doesn't mean because your parent were politician or public servant makes you one. Cheney was not a public servant, he was a business man, and bad one too, and who fail in all aspect. I have send people who are good politician, at the same time good in business .I have seen good politician and bad in business. If grade were given as regard to politician, no body will never ever mention his name .His name will only be referring just like Judas Iscariot in the bible who betrayed Jesus, and Cheney betrayed America.

Anyone else seem to notice that Cheney seems to come out of hiding on a nearly regular montly cycle, just like a werewolf or a woman, and then Liz follows to mimic him. Does it have to do with a full moon?

Ah, doesn't it do your heart good to see a father and daughter, working together on Satan's business?

What in the world is the matter with these two! The comments from both Daughter and Dad are absolutely ridiculous. The system that is now in place (and costing billions of dollars) was put in place by the Bush/Cheney Administration and so if there are failures to that system, why blame Obama. And how soon they forget, that it was the same Administration that tried the "Shoe Bomber" in Federal Court!

Does anyone really give a Tiger Gatorade about what anything a Cheney says anymore? I would rather listen to a rambling David Hasselhoff...

Once again a Cheney forgets who dropped the ball before 9/11! History cannot be rewritten to place anyone else but Bush/Cheney in charge 9-11-01 and who ignored warnings to them about the impending terrorist activities. And who will ever forget the thousands of lives that were lost and ruined because of the ARROGANCE of Bush/Cheney determined to go to war.

Liz Cheney...the answer to questions NOBODY ASKS. Why is it she feels qualified to say anything about anything?

Someone has to explain to her and others that the term 'RIGHT WING' doesn't mean you're right about anything!

considering her "daddy" ran the show for the past 8 years, and screwed it up royally...she should probably keep her fat mouth shut.

Miss Cheney much like her father does not address that fact the Shoe Bomber was tried in the Federal Courts and was not classified as an enemy combatant. Why would or should this situation be treated differently? The previous administration did not see a reason to do so in the wake of 9/11, why would they harp on someone else to do what they would and did not do? Just to have something to gripe about?

Any one with any intelligence has to agree that we must call these people "enemy combatants" and treat them as such. Anyone who defended the country since and leading up to 9/11 knows these individuals will continue to terrorize this country. Whatever happened to upholding the passport we sign agreeing not to fight against americans. This is an act of treason and these people get a slap on the hands. Obama is a weak leader who has no experience, had no experience as a senator and up until his presidency, was against the military. He is viewed as a weak leader in Eastern Europe, not taken seriously by the N Koreans and selling our country to China. What a huge mistake it was to follow his socialist rehtoric.

The only thing more absurd than Dick Chaney shooting off his mouth these days is Liz Chaney shooting off hers. She is nobody but the daughter of a disgraced former vice president. Only the publishing of her ignorant comments by Faux News and CNN does she garner any credibility and you do a great disservice to our country by doing so. Comments like this from a private citizen during her father's administration would have been seen as treasonous.

Liz Cheney is just a parrot. If Dick gets his info wrong, what makes Liz think she can do any better? She just wants the spotlight.

Who really cares what these demeaning Cheneys have to say? They do not speak for me and I do not need to be enlightened by their claims. Their conclusions lack supportive data and are outputs of their distorted thinking.

    Quack, quack, quack, quack, quack.

Entire family needs to sit down and shut up already. And Daddy was unfortunately our VP - exactly what credentials does Liz have to merit her opinions being on CNN other than being the daughter of the worst VP in our history?
