Cheney, the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney and the founder of the nonprofit group Keep America Safe, released a statement calling on President Obama to reverse his decision to close the detention facility in Guantanamo Bay, and to overrule the Justice Department's decision to try 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed before a civilian court in New York City.
Cheney also called on President Obama to classify the attempted Christmas Day bomber, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, as an enemy combatant to be tried before a military tribunal.
"President Obama has weakened American security by treating terror as a law enforcement matter, refusing to use every tool at his disposal to prevent attacks, and taking his eye off the ball. America's homeland security and counterterrorism systems will continue to erode in the absence of strong, consistent, unwavering presidential stewardship," said Cheney. "It's time for the President to make defending this nation his top priority."
Liz Chaney and Papa DIck both need to shut up! He because he screwed up the country for eight years and she needs to shut it because she knows nothing and every time she opens up her mouth it shows.
So what? Liz Cheney is an irrelevant wanna-be anyway. She has made no positive impact on our nation, but she sure won't hesitate to give you her opinion. The problem is, no one cares what she thinks. Same goes for Dick "Five Time Deferrment" Cheney

Why do we as American's have such a short, selective memory? Richard Ried (shoe bomber) was tried in a US court.
What's the surprise or news value here? Liz Cheney herself is just an echo of her father, and adds nothing except noise to the political debate.

Do you remember that the Bush administration prosecuted shoe bomber Richard Reid in Federal Court for attempting to down a transatlantic flight using the same type of explosives found on Mr. Abdulmutallab.

Both Cheneys are spot on. Treating these attackers as common criminals is exactly what led to 9/11 – the Obama administration knows and and so does America. Obama is too afraid of being seen as falling in line with Bush to do what is right for the country.
