Want a job? Ask Obama

New York (CNNMoney.com) - As economists and investors reel from a surprisingly weak jobs number, there are 3,300 people that may actually be cheering December's report.

That's the number of employees that were added to the federal government's payroll last month.

As job losses continued in construction, manufacturing, retail, leisure and hospitality, as well as at the state and local government level, the Federal government was one of the few areas that posted a job gain.

@pete: ...while the "free market jobs" are being held back by money grubbing rich people..."

That's got to be one of the most imbecilic comments I've see in these fora.

Private-sector jobs aren't happening because the private sector is scared to death of how much of their resources the idiot far-Left is going to try confiscate to pay for porkulus, health care welfare, and all the vast number of other ways the Dems are wasting taxpayer money.

Obamanomics: You work for the Government, you work for a union with a company owned by the Government, you actually have a private sector job and pay taxes until your eyes bleed, you are Unemployed.

Unemployment payments to those out of work and government contracts all come to an end. We now have 3.300 new union workers with jobs that won't end and whose pay checks will come from all other working American's payroll taxes.

But, I thought other Americans are no longer working or paying taxes.? So, where does the pay for 3.300 added Federal employees come from?

There should be a limit to the number of Federal employees allowed based on a percentage of the production workers in our country. Maybe t

Of course there was an increase in the number of Federal jobs: how else will the increase in government control take place unless you have more government employees to run more of the government controlled programs.

Yes, on the road to recovery! Yeah! Unfortunately, that road is the beltway that runs around DC. To the 4.9 million unemployed Americans, join those of us in the military and see your recruiter. We have health care, college funding, food gets put on the table, and I guarantee you that Uncle Sam is easier to trust than Aunt Nancy or Uncle Harry.

During the "Bush-Cheney / GOP" reign from 2000 to 2008, millions of jobs were shipped overseas while Bush and Republican Legislators s got paid big lobbyist money to look the other way and do nothing. Union jobs were not the only jobs lost overseas, but high paying tech and corporate were also outsourced.

Now you Tea-Party idiots are looking at President Obama to bring them back. The jobs are gone you fools!

Oh good now the government hired 3000 more people. Now we have 3000 more people that go to a government and do what they did before they had a job "NOTHING".

HEY LINDA . . . You ask Obama where are the jobs? You should have asked Bush & Cheney who watched and allowed millions of jobs to go overseas, while GOP Legislators got paid big bucks by their corporate lobbyist to look the other way. Stop being a hypocrite and for once place the blame for your unemployment where it belongs.

While President George W. Bush was in his last year of Office, America lost ...... 2.6 MILLION JOBS.

The last time, that we had 10% unemployment was 1983, Ronald Reagan was president. And I do not recall such HATE towards him by the Democrats!

Its disheartening to read and listen to the GOP each day, as they spew their hate and lies. Are you FOR America? Because the Teabaggers, Hannity, Rush, Colter, Faux News and the rest of you posting here are downright hateful.

What's disturbing is that the Republicans claim to be Christians! You, folks, really think that Jesus would be proud of your words & behavior?

The GOP Republican Party has been preaching smaller government since Ronald Reagan. Now why would a Republican from a Blue State want to work for the federal government? Sounds a bit hypocritical to me?

If Obama's policies kills jobs as a couple you have commented, than what did Bush policies do that led millions of good paying American jobs to be shipped overseas with no chances of returning? What about Bush-Cheney policies and GOP Legislator handouts from corporate America to look the other way, as both union and non-union members were thrown out on the streets? Care to comment?

If one has no job and wants a job, one needs to realize that a person who has a job is expected to PRODUCE something that others really NEED or WANT.
If one can determine what he can produce, he can take the initiative to produce and sell it himself: then his no-job problem will be solved, and without help from the President or the government.
If all a person can produce is answering someone else's telephone or taking coats and hats, he may not get a job.
    Whose fault is that?
    President Obama's?

Government jobs don't add to the economy. They just take money out of the true workers' pockets.

Don't ask Obama if you believe in your Second Amendment rights. They ask if you own a firearm in the application. I guess you cannot be a citizen.

Get a clue Petey! The real message of this story is the horrific expansion of Big Government under Obama's leadership. You incorrectly lay blame on "money grubbing rich people". You're so misled and naïve.

Those money grubbers are the same people that pay the vast majority of the taxes so that people like you can complain and blame. These are the same people that create jobs and with every new tax increase your Liberal coharts endorse, the unemployment level rises. You probably don't work but hopefully this will give you some true insight little man!
