[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/09/01/art.palinmoney.gi.jpg caption="Palin will speak to the Wine and Liquor Wholesalers of America in April."]Washington (CNN) - Las Vegas and alcohol probably aren't the first two things that come to mind at the mention of Sarah Palin, but the former vice presidential candidate is about to change that.
At least that's according to Craig Wolf, the president and CEO of the Wine and Liquor Wholesalers of America, who announced Tuesday that Palin will keynote the group's annual convention and and expo in Las Vegas in early April.
"Governor Palin is a great supporter of America's free enterprise system and understands that industries like the beverage alcohol industry play a key role in driving our national economy. We're proud and honored to welcome her as a speaker," Wolf said in a statement. "We expect she will share with the convention attendees her analysis of the current political environment and her vision for America's future."
The convention includes a "Wine and Spirits Tasting Competition," which, according to the press release, "secured a spot on the agenda after drawing overwhelming response and favorable feedback during its debut" last year.
An aide to Palin was not immediately available to confirm the WLWA appearance.
The Las Vegas stop comes a few days before Palin is scheduled to address the Southern Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans, a major gathering of GOP leaders that that in recent years has become an early proving ground for potential presidential candidates.
You'd have to be drunk to listen to her...let alone support her!
Hope CNN keeps pushing Palin stories, it will help Fox grow even more.
Ok Liberals, sharpen your teeth and claws for this one. Can't wait to read the hatred towards Palin on this story. Lets see how far some of you can sink into the mud.
Leave it to a bunch of wino's to listen to a wacko.
What Wonderful Idea! and a Brilliant Speaker to choose for the "Booze Convention" Now thats a match made in Heaven, its amazing how much they care that they offered her no fee and admission is free, what a caring society we become 🙂 Keep up the Palin Work
I think I will boycott any alcoholic beverages in Las Vegas (my second home) in the future. How they think Sarah Palin's thoughts on politics are relevant to the alcohol industry baffle me. I would rather do without my margarita than support Sarah Palin's self serving antics.
Go out and grab as much cash as possible, SP. That is the American way.
Nothing says "morals and values" like booze! Unreal.
MY GOD!!! Someone get me a drink.
Drunks. Palin. $21,000 Scores tabs. You can't make this stuff up.
All of your negative opinions makes me want to vote for, if she runs for prez in 12. You all are helping her.
Geez, this idiot is EVERYWHERE!! She quits as Gov. of Alaska, "for the good of Alaska" and has been raking in the dough ever since. She's laughing all the way to the bank. She's making hay while the sun shines. You are fooling nobody Sarah, and you are a MAJOR hypocrite.
Enough already...everytime Palin signs up for this or that we have to read or hear about it. As someone who was uniquely unqualified to be a heartbeat away she is getting her fifteen minutes of fame thanks to all of you in the media. I ask that you stop the notion of making her into something she will never be, a viable national candidate. Remember she quit her job as the highest elected official from her home state, that alone should tell us something about her convictions.
I will not listen to her on the other network or read her book; there are too many pressing issues at hand that the past Administration left the current one to waste time, energy and effort on the former Governor.
The best comment ever about Sarah Palin came yesterday. A commenter here on the Ticker, in a post about Palin being hired by Fox News, commented "Who cares. No one watches FoxNews anyways".
I guess that pretty much sums up 95% of the comments here on the Ticker. Last time I checked, FoxNews had more veiwers than CNN and MSNBC COMBINED!!!
This is one comment (like 95% of my comments) that will NEVER be posted!!!!
FLUID values...no pun intended. Her values change like the wind but consistently follow the money.
uuurp.. I need another drink!
Las Vegas and Fox News are *perfect* venues for a woman of her intellect.
My sincere hope is that she does run for President in 2012, and splits off the Tea Bagger vote from any moderate Republican candidate (if there is still such a creature). That scenario would hand Obama a second landslide election with a bow wrapped around it.
Wasilla yahoos raiding the country from coast to coast. Between Sarah, Levi and the other band of boneheads, the country is in a stupor from an Alaskan hangover.
anything for a buck ...LOL
Is this a paid event?
I have a gut feeling that she does nothing unless she is paid.

perfect venue. I mean she is very entertaining and s-e-x-y
Does she really not know the difference between North and South Korea? What did she think the Korean War was about–chopsticks?
Bet her approval rating in Nevada is a bit higher than Reid or Obama.
