Palin to address alcohol industry event in Las Vegas

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/09/01/art.palinmoney.gi.jpg caption="Palin will speak to the Wine and Liquor Wholesalers of America in April."]Washington (CNN) - Las Vegas and alcohol probably aren't the first two things that come to mind at the mention of Sarah Palin, but the former vice presidential candidate is about to change that.

At least that's according to Craig Wolf, the president and CEO of the Wine and Liquor Wholesalers of America, who announced Tuesday that Palin will keynote the group's annual convention and and expo in Las Vegas in early April.

"Governor Palin is a great supporter of America's free enterprise system and understands that industries like the beverage alcohol industry play a key role in driving our national economy. We're proud and honored to welcome her as a speaker," Wolf said in a statement. "We expect she will share with the convention attendees her analysis of the current political environment and her vision for America's future."

The convention includes a "Wine and Spirits Tasting Competition," which, according to the press release, "secured a spot on the agenda after drawing overwhelming response and favorable feedback during its debut" last year.

An aide to Palin was not immediately available to confirm the WLWA appearance.

The Las Vegas stop comes a few days before Palin is scheduled to address the Southern Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans, a major gathering of GOP leaders that that in recent years has become an early proving ground for potential presidential candidates.

I think Palin would be a total disaster as president or vice president, but, you know, I'll bet she's pretty good at these kinds of things – she seems to be fun and charming if not overly well informed or thoughtful. I hope she follows this path and gets out of politics...

    What a prostitute!
"Show me the money" should be her campaign slogan.
Is this is the best we can hope for as presidential material from certain groups in the GOP?

I would pay good money to see Sarah Palin
speak and be able to drink at the same time.
Call me old fashioned but I like a pretty woman
who excites a crowd and I don't mind a little nip
    of whiskey also.
I would also vote for her. Golly Gee, I sure hope
that doesn't make me an extremist

Interesting. Some of the strictest alcohol laws are in some of the most religiously conservative states.

Everytime Palin shows up in the media, the left starts drinking. She's good for business.

If Palin gets drunk -–maybe, just maybe she will speak with some intelligence.

Agreeing to speak at conventions such as this suggest that Sarah Palin has no intention to run for President in 2012. Plus when you add the Fox News commentator position, it smells like something a former politician would do..grab as much dough as you can based on your reputation and hope someone will pay you for your two cents.

Next she'll be juggling beachballs at Seaworld. I've said it before...what is most disturbing about this person is that "she doesn't know that there are things she doesn't know"...and all projected with an air of self-righteousness. A dangerous and ignorant position.

ohhh...this is going to piss off her right wing religois backers...but as long as she gets paid, ehy? She has a history of walking out on her supporters for money. Isn't thet right, people of Alaska?

Craig Wolf – please refer to sara as EX-governor – she is not the governor any more – She Quit on those who elected her!
As far as her "sharing her analysis of the current political environment"...perhaps she can discuss Korea (she just found out there is a North and South) which is line with her other abilities related to international knowledge.
Nothing against to prudent use of alcohol, but Craig Wolf and Palin must both be drunk!
Ah but then Palin then leaves Las vegas is to address the Southern Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans. Ah New Orleans where the Republican Leadership (Ex-president Bush) left so many dead. Ah these are the ways some Republicans celebrate. Sara Palin is in it for the Money – NOT the American people! She should have married to Ballon Dad! They could lie to one another until they finally fall asleep. GOD help us!

I can't even believe some people are supporting this story and dogging "liberals out to get Sarah". This is appalling. This isn't a liberal vs. conservative issue. This is totally about money, hypocrisy, and touting something that ultimately causes many deaths and loss of revenue for businesses every year. Alcoholism is a real issue people, wake up!

Perfect fit, wholesalers have balkanized the US market for their own benefit for their distribution fiefdoms, the opposite of real free enterprise. Try buying a wine online from a winery and you will find how restrictive your state is.

Hey Sarah, do crack dealers have industry conventions? Maybe you could talk to them.

You can see South America from Las Vegas.

The Whole Sum of Sarah Palin is that "MONEY SPEAKS" this woman would speak at a "PORN CONVENTION" if the money was right.......I now believe she would even SELL HER SOUL TO THE DEVIL if the money was right......but then again I think she already has........

The Wine and Liquor Wholesalers of America are not just a major contributor to the American economy, they should also be proud of being a major contributor to 2 million Americans becoming alcoholics every year, every drunk driving accident and death, every husband who is going to beat his wife tonight, every American fired from a job because of a drinking problem, every American child who does not have food to eat tonight because mommy and daddy drank the food money – I can go on forever – however as Americans we like to live in our dream world – until you are personally affected by alcohol.

I'm sorry, this is just stupid.

I feel shame, as an American, a real American, that Palin is even considered a viable candidate. Am I the only "real American" that actually listens to her and what it is she is saying?

I see nothing of value in Palin.
I see Palin adds nothing of value to any debate.
I see Palin as of no value.

Palin is a christian extremist, no better than an islamist extremist.

    I am a real American.

She quit the job she ran for (Gov) because the spotlight was too much for her family and the ethics inquiries too problematic – for this?!
This proves A) she wants the spotlight B) she'll talk wherever there's a mic and a check.

The book "Game Changer" shows just how UNEDUCATED this woman is. Who in their right mind would talk "Foreign Policy" and not know the history of war. LOL She never passed a SAT. NO Way.
She is surely for Capitol Gain for Sarah Palin. Use her until you use her up. Looks don't last forever.

Hmmm.....Follow the money. Sarah has dollar signs in her eyes.
Guess she'll do anything for a buck.

And a message for those who follow Palin with blind obedience......As my father used to say, "There's one born every minute."
