Palin to address alcohol industry event in Las Vegas

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/09/01/art.palinmoney.gi.jpg caption="Palin will speak to the Wine and Liquor Wholesalers of America in April."]Washington (CNN) - Las Vegas and alcohol probably aren't the first two things that come to mind at the mention of Sarah Palin, but the former vice presidential candidate is about to change that.

At least that's according to Craig Wolf, the president and CEO of the Wine and Liquor Wholesalers of America, who announced Tuesday that Palin will keynote the group's annual convention and and expo in Las Vegas in early April.

"Governor Palin is a great supporter of America's free enterprise system and understands that industries like the beverage alcohol industry play a key role in driving our national economy. We're proud and honored to welcome her as a speaker," Wolf said in a statement. "We expect she will share with the convention attendees her analysis of the current political environment and her vision for America's future."

The convention includes a "Wine and Spirits Tasting Competition," which, according to the press release, "secured a spot on the agenda after drawing overwhelming response and favorable feedback during its debut" last year.

An aide to Palin was not immediately available to confirm the WLWA appearance.

The Las Vegas stop comes a few days before Palin is scheduled to address the Southern Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans, a major gathering of GOP leaders that that in recent years has become an early proving ground for potential presidential candidates.

Well, the cat's out of the bag!! Sara must like to have a "fast and easy drink" now and then! Thus the invite to this big convention! I sure hope she behaves herself while she is in Vegas! But then again, as they say - "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas! Maybe we all will GET a big surprise and she will show up on Youtube and/or FaceBook, with her fancy bkinki! and a big Margueritia in one hand, and a hundred dollar bill in the other!! And this is a woman who is a CHRISTIAN, and is very FAMILY ORIENTED??????????????? This must be the new definition of Christianity for the GOP - If it feels good, do it!!! Nevermind what God might think or say - It's the 21st Century!! Just impress everyone with your so called Christian, family values, and you'll be just fine!! And when you get brave enough - "Let it ALL hang out'!!! Good Luck, Sara!!! And Shhhhhhh!!! We know - only the brave hearted travel to Vegas!!!!!

Just goes to show you that Sarah has been overcome with fame and now fortune. This is a woman loved by the Christian Right, and now she is going to Vegas for the Wine and Alcohol Wholesales. She will do anything for money, apparently.

I guess she is going to tell the nation it is OK to drink as we live in the land of free enterprise and capitalism reigns supreme as long as industry is making money. What in the world does that dumb mother know about what is good for the nation's future when she is having difficulty with her own family and when she couldn't govern Alaska she just up and quit, how inspiring. Take care of your own family before you try to run a great nation. One thing she dos like to do is raise a lot of money for herself, by being folksy, what a phony, only a 'tea party' person could love.

Just a few more pennies in her pocketbook. Hopefully everyone will have a a few drinks before her speech, and won't even notice that she is incoherent and doesn't make much sense.

Probably will emphasize her version of family values to one of the groups most responsible for the damage done by alcohol to the American family. This would smack of blatant hypocrisy if it wasn't Sarah Palin gettin' rich. You betcha!

This is too funny for words. Wondering if the comedians that regularly perform in Vegas will think that Sarah's invading their turf, since she'll surely deliver a comedy routine for a bunch of drunk sales reps.

Sarah Palin professes to know everything about everything, but knows nothing about anything! She is being used to draw crowds. The groups don't care what she says, just get them in, give her a script, then we'll work the crowd! She is a curiosity, like a side show in a circus!

Stop filling the aorwaves witrh this person of no consequence.
We have more impotant people and issues to deal with.
CNN – get your head out of the gutter and start living up to your responsibility to provide the people with important information about serious issues.
This is bubblegum. Is that what your producers call news?
And you think FOX is opinion-journalism?

Why doesn't she just stay home and take care of her "special needs" child. I am so sick of hearing her name. I just watched my last CNN program also.
