If this was a Bush state of the union address those on the right would be demanding everyone stand up and cheer. But since it is Obama they want everyone to stand up and boo the president.

The same POP party that puts party first and country last. Shameful and they have the nerve to call themselves Americans. Anit-Americans it more like it. IMO.

Let's all hope that his speech is one of true realizm and not all 'gumdrops and rainbows' as his campaign was. Contrary to belief (possibly his own) he is not the Messiah. When all is said and done, years from today, and Obama is out and about on some golf cart in Hawaii with Clinton and George Bush, we will all still be in the same boat... sailing or sinking with no political "Savior" to depend on to bail us regular, hard working folks out.
"Help is on the way, America!" he proclaimed during his campaign... a year later...what help?
I have not lost faith in Obama, mainly since I did'nt have any to begin with.

Where were all of these idiots when Bush and Cheney were lying to America about weapons so that they could bankrupt the nation and murder thousands of innocent people? How can anyone with anything above a sixth grade education think that our country was in good hands from Jan. 20, 2001- Jan. 20, 2009?

The "Tea Party" crowd is a bunch of uneducated, racist, hate-filled simpletons.

At least if Obama reads from a teleprompter, he can read. Obama has written a few books as well. I wonder if George W. Bush has read even one book???

Finally, when an idiot like Bush destroys the economy, the only "quick fix" to avoid a depression is government bail-outs and interventions. When that happens, the idiots who created the mess scream "Marxist" or "Socialist". You are fools. The right wing nuts in this country are fools. They always have been and always will be.

Constitution says he has to make the speech. Nothing says you have to listen to it.

The Dems control the White House. The Dems control the Senate. The Dems control the House.

It amazes me how they will still blame the Republicans for Obama's failed policies including sky rocketing unemployment and an unpopular heath-care takeover attempt. People are against Obama's current policies and the corrupt actions of the current Congress. Time to take off the blinders people!

Obama is finding out that it takes more than being a motivational speaker to make someone a true leader.

God bless President Obama. Never before has a president done so many things in his first year, and President Obama gets even more credit for accomplishing that much despite the wave of ignorance and simple-mindedness that swept this country following his election. Keep it up, Mr. President!

I, too, would like to apologize to the rest of the world for the Bush era. I didn't vote for him. Of course, a majority of Americans who voted, did not vote for him in 2000. We should apologize to the world for allowing our democracy to be undermined with a stolen election in 2000.

When we ceased to be a democracy in 2000, we should apologize to the world for being hypocrites. We force democracy in other parts of the world while denying it to our own citizens.

What amazes me that Americans will not look back into our history... never has a President had to deal as much as Obama has to deal with at once. The last Great Depression happened during peacetime..We are dealing with high recession, which was started before Obama became President... we are dealing with TWO wars and we are also dealing with terrorists ,, not counting the problems with Wall Street. I haven't agreed with everything he said or did, but I certainly haven't agreed everything my husband said, either! I am giving him high marks for what he's dealing with. THings aren't taken care of overnight.

Before you judge Obama just look at the polls in massachusetts. The republicans are going to win the vacated seat of the late Ted kennedy. How is that possible? Its possible because Amercians are tired of the thoery that govt can fix everything. For those that belive the governemt can run health i think your sadly mistaken. History has shown us
they cant even run the VA hopsitals properly. The cant run the post office profitably, they cant even balance a budget. . We are so heavy in debt and deficits but yet we spend spend spend and nothing gets fixed. This president is just making it worse....

I voted for Obama and I can't wait to never hear his lies again. He promised transparency, and the dems have been writing healthcare bills behind closed doors since summer; when they tried to cram the first one through. He is the first President to double dip in the Middle East. He is selling weapons to Israel and to Arab states... (F-16 to Egypt & Morocco. Anti-arm and anti-tank weapons to Saudi and Jordan). Why wouldn't Mr. Self-righteous just not sell weapons to ANYONE, Israel included. THERE'S AN IDEA!!... And after appointed Van Jones (who has a law degree) as the Clear job czar; ill never over for a Dem again. Those social-elitist are the worst thing for this country and this world. Ill put my trust in "my God" because the social-elitist in this country and world; simply can't be trusted.

I'm just happy we don't have to see the arrogance dripping from GW's smirk anymore... Or at least during the State of the Union. Didn't they start airing the last couple State of the Unions he gave on the Comedy Channel???

Obama has effectively killed any hope of the U.S. remaining as a superpower. But it's okay, all of the people in this country who don't want to work can have free hand-outs for life.

I hope the Chinese and the Saudis realize investing in America is like investing in an igloo in death valley on a summer day, it looks comfy now, but you'll be left with nothing but vapor by the end of the day.

This will result in our country being sent into a catastrophic economic collapse, making the great depression look like christmas. Unfortunately, this time, the country will not be able to recover because it has lost its diligent citizens and replaced them with beggars who live beyond their means. Those with education and skills will evacuate the country until they are unable to take refuge in Europe and Canada. Europe will rise to power with a central, powerful leader who will no longer support Israel. The middle east will become increasingly unstable with Israel conquering more land to secure their territory. The middle east will form a strong alliance, surprisingly with the support of Europe and will once again attack Israel...I could tell you the rest, but I don't want to spoil the end, Obama is simply a means to an end.
