New poll shows majorities don't want Palin to run

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/11/30/art.palin.928.jpg caption=" A new survey suggests an overwhelming number of Americans don't want the former Alaska governor to run for president."](CNN) - Sarah Palin attracted huge crowds across the country last fall as she promoted her best-selling memoir, but a new survey suggests an overwhelming number of Americans don't want the former Alaska governor to run for president.

According to a new CBS News poll out Tuesday, 71 percent are against the former Republican vice presidential candidate launching her own bid for the White House in two years while 21 percent are in favor of a potential run.

Broken down by party, 56 percent of Republicans are against a potential Palin presidential campaign while 30 percent are for it. Meanwhile, the vast majority of Democrats, 88 percent, are not in favor of a Palin presidential run.

The survey also finds significantly more people view Palin negatively than positively: 41 percent negative compared to 26 percent positive.

Both those numbers have increased since Palin's high-profile book tour late last year and since becoming a Fox News contributor last week. In November, 38 percent held an unfavorable view of Palin while 23 percent held a positive view of her.

Among Republicans in the latest poll, 43 percent hold a positive view of Palin while 30 percent of independents do. Meanwhile, just under a half of conservatives view Palin favorably while only 16 percent of liberals do.

Meanwhile, a majority of conservatives, 58 percent say Palin should run for president in 2012.

A CBS poll is even more biased as a CNN poll, LOL But while the libel the left wing nutz are spewing the hateful vitriol about Palin (caused by the frustration of losing the sacred seat in Massachusetts), a lot of of FOX new fans thank you for the publicity.

Avatar 2. That should be her next project...She'll do well as leader of the revenge mission...She's beautiful and she's cold hearted and pays no heed to the Environmental, social or health impacts of mining.......
Seriously, Sarah Palin should get a teachers license and teach at some school, and SIMPLY forget about the past (her present) – and then grow into her role. She's off on a tangent. The longer she flies, the further amiss she becomes.
    This is heartfelt Christian advice.

Well, I'm a Democrat, and I hope she runs so she will lose. She would be the perfect sacrificial lamb for the Republicans.

She'll make a lot more money inviting herself to NASCAR, speaking at alcohol sales conventions, and posing for the covers of supermarket tabloids. I doubt that she cares if anyone wants her to run.

  7. Republicans - Wrong about everything, Wrong for America (and GW Bush was the worst President ever)

It was a big mistake signing on with Fox. As more and more people listen to her talk, more and more people are going to realize how unqualified she is to hold any office.

So CNN, it would seem you think this is more important than the Mass. election . . . do your people lean over when they see oBLAHma comming. I guess if Brown wins tonight, you will have your usual group of liberal lovers talking about how things are not fair and blaming the loss on Coakley, rather than on the general activities of the 'back-room' democrats.

With all of the attention and compensation she got, satisfying her self-focused drive, I doubt if she will care much; but I don't doubt she will appear somewhere on the national entertainment scene. Thank God now likely not in politics where she could do so much harm.

"Meanwhile, a majority of conservatives, 58 percent say Palin should run for president in 2012." A majority of Democrats think that as well because she would have no chance in winning at all.

I disagree completely. I think Sarah should run!

She would entirely destroy any chance the republican party had for winning in 2012.

She would split the party, create caos, ruin its credibility, while providing entertainment for Democrats throughout the free world, as she ripped huge chunks of flesh off of her colleagues and their supporters.

After all, its not about what's good for the country, its about what's good for Sarah.

    Run Sarah, run!!

Sarah Palin is a national joke! She will follow the money wherever it leads... Her nomination by the GOP in 2012 would be a gift to Obama and the Dems.

Oh yeah, thanks CNN for the update on a private citizen who is not a candidate for anything at this time.

But, hey, what about that Massachusetts senate race where Scott Brown may very well win and save the nation by defeating the wannabe dictator's socialist healthcare debacle? Now there's a story.
