Avlon: Talking to the independents

(CNN) - President Obama said, "What frustrates the American people is a Washington where every day is Election Day." These words are aimed directly at independents.

    Good speech by the President. He is still trying to come to the middle to work together in spite of some members of Congress working for themselves and not us. Of course, in the midst of telling the American citizens that we need to work together we still have the rethugs' condascending smirks and stares, but the "moral majority is neither" comes to mind.

    Hey, I don't care who you are democrate, republican or indentent, the president gave a great speach. Congrats to Mr. Obama for telling all parties to get off there political platforms and start working together. And it is a shame how the republicans sit there so smuglie and want get off there fat tussies to applude for the president of the United States.

    No in reality it is what the republicans do...just do things so they can get re-elected. I woke up and don't vote republican anymore.

    No. You completely missed the boat. Those comments are aimed at you and the rest of the opinion-based political pundits who dramatize and concoct conflict to keep politics interesting under the guise of 'keeping them honest.' Keeping your ratings up is more like it. Have there not been enough high speed car chases lately? Journalistic integrity anyone? Anyone?

    It may have been aimed at Independents but i donot like it either when are Republicans and Democrats are going to come together and stop thinking about how they will win the next election? Thats why these problems we are facing have not been fixed yet too much division Yeah you can blame the President all you want but he can only do so much he can raise grow folks again.
