State of the Union: We're Unimpressed, Mr. Obama

Actions Speak Louder Than Words

The Tea Party Express released the following statement in response to the president's State of the Union Address:

"Tonight was a night of hot air, delivered in a way too long speech that revisited pledges we've quite frankly heard from Barack Obama before.

"His comments in the State of the Union were similar in tone and substance to his comments made after he won the 2008 presidential election and during his inauguration.

"But actions speak louder than words, and this administration violated its promise for increased transparency. Lobbyists were appointed by the president to positions he swore would never be filled by former lobbyists.

"Worst of all, we've seen out-of-control spending, and an unparalleled growth in the size and power of government.

"We'll start to believe Barack Obama when his actions match his words. Until then, it's just more empty promises, and we've all heard far too many unfulfilled promises from the politicians in Washington.
"In our opinion, the best part of this speech was the end."

The only specific thing they found was lobbyist appointments... they only hear what they want to hear . "Out of control spending and unparalleled growth in the size and power of government" is the standard radical right-wing conservative mantra no matter what Democrat is in power. I find it amazing that they won't even acknowledge that such a statement applies more to Bush than Obama. The president inherited this situation and a "do nothing" approach will do nothing. "The best part of the speech was the end" because they will never listen to anything other than their own pre-conceived notions.

more visceral, emotional, and snarky taunts from the crowd who thinks "he who yells the loudest wins".

how about something constructive once in a while? this is why no one takes this movement seriously.

"We'll start to believe Barack Obama when his actions match his words. Until then, it's just more empty promises..."

    YOU SHOULD HAVE SAID:
"WE'LL START TO work with BARACK OBAMA so that HIS ACTIONS can MATCH HIS WORDS so our economy could get back on the right track and the unemployment rate will drop. Therefore, the promises he made to the American people will no longer be filled with JUST MORE EMPTY PROMISES.

The TEA-BAGGERS are so trapped in their racists surrondings, they cannote even address our president as President Obama!!!

With the exception of Chris Matthews and the rest of the die hard liberals, no-one believed a word of it. This is his same, recycled speech of a year ago. What's been accomplished? The man is so egotistical he is still trying to force a bill down the throats of Americans who DO NOT WANT IT. I know he's not stupid, so he must be incredibly egotistical. He just cannot take NO for an answer. He and his administration are corrupt to the core.

It is becoming more evident that Mr. Obama exploited the public by promising the Holy Grail!

I ate the bait and voted for him, but unfortunately, I prefer democracy versus socialism and biased liberalism.
Everything has its price, and if myself being uninsured is the price for Democracy, I'd rather be uninsured.

I would much prefer leaving the system the way it is than having an arrogant demagogue preacher with zero experience, coming out of nowhere to regulate in a reactionary fashion the very symbols of our Freedom, let alone being at "war with them."

    Mr President Obama:

please climb back to the hole you came from and leave the American people alone. You have committed a crime to society, and to the American people especially, by wantonly misleading us at a time of great peril just to promote your own agenda. You know very well that you were, and are not, qualified for this job.

From now on you are officially dubbed the "Lame Duck Holy Grail President."

    Good luck

"Tea Baggers" are just stupid rednecks that are upset they lost the election, so they blame everything on Obama and the dems. I remember when Bush was in power that if you disagreed with any of his policies you were told to "leave the country if you don't like it".
To Tea Baggers; LEAVE THE COUNTRY IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT,,, please?lol

Worst of all is the hypocrisy of the right wing which has created a division in this country when, as Obama points out, we all basically embrace American ideals (some more than others, of course.)

Re: CNN coverage. Click. That is the sound of me turning off CNN after Carville blasts Alex for his comments on the Alito mutterings. If you want a useful debate, you have to remove the old guard pundits. All James wants to do is argue. Give me more Gergen! I am an Obama supporter and yet in that exchange, I am embarrassed to be on the Dem side. IMO, people want analysis and meaningful debate, not theatrics.

These know-nothing blowhards are nothing but the fringes of the GOP: all-white, racist, and conspiracy theorists. They are psychotic scum whose departure from the news cannot come soon enough.

It shows that the Tea Partiers are just rabid Partisans, without regard to substance. They are not willing to work toward a solution, and their sole desire is to stand in the way of progress.
