Palin wants Rahm Emanuel fired

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/11/10/art.getty.rahm.emanuel.jpg caption="Palin says Emanuel should be fired over a recently reported comment."](CNN) - This time, White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel has gone too far, Sarah Palin says.

The former Alaska governor is calling on President Obama to fire his notoriously coarse top aide after a report in the Wall Street Journal last week quoted Emanuel as referring to liberal groups in August who attacked the president's health care plan as "F-ing retarded."

In a posting on Facebook, Palin says the language is not only "caustic [and] crude" but deeply offensive to those with disabilities. She also compares the choice of words to that of the "N-word" in reference to African-Americans.

"His recent tirade against participants in a strategy session was such a strong slap in many American faces that our president is doing himself a disservice by seeming to condone Rahm's recent sick and offensive tactic," Palin wrote.

"Just as we'd be appalled if any public figure of Rahm's stature ever used the "N-word" or other such inappropriate language, Rahm's slur on all God's children with cognitive and developmental disabilities – and the people who love them – is unacceptable, and it's heartbreaking," Palin also wrote in the post Monday evening.

Palin's youngest child, Trig, was born with Down Syndrome in April, 2008.

Special Olympics Chairman Tim Shriver has also taken issue with the language, sending a letter to Emanuel last week asking him to join his organization's campaign to end the use of the word.

The White House has not commented on Emanuel's reported language.

Okay, scratch -"F-ing retarded." and replace with – "as stupid as Palin".

Now she's all PC. Isn't this the same person who came out against the hate crimes bill saying every crime is a hate crime and special circumstances such as slurs said while committing a crime should warrant extra penalties.

This from a woman who professes to represent the party who would deny these children the benefits they need to survive. Yeah, lots of credibility on this one Barbi.

Amusing that as a FOX News contributor, Palin embraces the same "gotcha" tactics she complained about during the campaign.

At least Shriver is proactive about it.

If Palin says he has to go, then he has to stay.

Who cares what the Looney Tunes Quitter has to say about anything? Every time she opens her mouth it's clear she wasn't paying attention in school.

Is Palin comparing African-Americans to retarded people? Is this not the same misguided woman who refers to her developmentally challenged child in perjorative terms? Sarah, if this is a pratice session on your $115,000 tea party speech, it will not work

Like the pot calling the kettle black. This woman has also at times used improper terms. Besides, until she holds the title of POTUS she does not call the shots. Anything to keep herself in the media who fall for this woman's traps.

OK Sarah ... 15 minutes have passed and you need to step away from the mic. Harsh language is a reality and there are very few virgin ears. So when do the Free speech supporters step up? There is a cause for EVERYTHING! Keep searching for the right angle to discredit anyone in the current administration but do so in silence ... your thoughts are offensive.

Palin is the "retard". My brother of 66 years is developmentally disabled and unlike short-termer Palin, I and many acquaitances have lived with societies lack of understanding – and of course the use of the term "retarded" as a reference to virtually anything unacceptable without taking offense. Get over it and enjoy and celebrate your child. You will hear this reference the rest of your days and I'll bet never with regard to your son.

Ssarah is absolutely correct! There is no room for such a disrespectful manner of a top political operative. Emmanuels language was shameful!!

0bama's tolerance of Rahm's disdainful conduct, coupled with his own "special olympics" gaffe some time ago, only shows the lack of respect this administration has for the differently abled.

If 0bama has one ounce of decency and means to regain any credibility whatsoever, he'll fire Rahm and any like him who make such crude and disparaging remarks toward those with Down Syndrome and other developmental disabilities.

Rahm was exactly right. He is pretty brilliant and gets things done.

And there is nothing wrong with the word "retarded." It means slow.

Can anyone verify that these posts are written by Palin and not some hired hand (brain)?

Since the postings seem to be in a different "voice" than what we hear when she is in front of a camera and she has been shown to contradict her facebook statements only CNN still seems to believe these are written by Palin.

Sarah, Sarah, Sarah.......The only person you have a right to fire or ask to be fired is yourself and you, thankfully have already done the state of Alaska a favor by doing that. Now get lost and keep your worthless opinions to yourself. Oh, and now you decide to defend liberals? Wow!!

Retard is an actual word in the English definition.

If you act like one, your actions can be referred to as such.

    Palin is such a diva.

Yeah, well I want to win the lottery and retire independently wealthy – but that ain't gonna happen either!

Palin wasn't the least bit offended when Cheney told Sen. Leahy to go f-himself and they were standing on the floor of the U.S. Senate!

Republicans must all have tunnel vision. They're only offended by what they see on the left and manage to miss any offenses to their right. Palin has frequently said some pretty ugly, offensive, false, and ignorant things herself.
