Palin wants Rahm Emanuel fired

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2009/images/11/10/art.getty.rahm.emanuel.jpg caption="Palin says Emanuel should be fired over a recently reported comment."](CNN) - This time, White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel has gone too far, Sarah Palin says.

The former Alaska governor is calling on President Obama to fire his notoriously coarse top aide after a report in the Wall Street Journal last week quoted Emanuel as referring to liberal groups in August who attacked the president's health care plan as "F-ing retarded."

In a posting on Facebook, Palin says the language is not only "caustic [and] crude" but deeply offensive to those with disabilities. She also compares the choice of words to that of the "N-word" in reference to African-Americans.

"His recent tirade against participants in a strategy session was such a strong slap in many American faces that our president is doing himself a disservice by seeming to condone Rahm's recent sick and offensive tactic," Palin wrote.

"Just as we'd be appalled if any public figure of Rahm's stature ever used the "N-word" or other such inappropriate language, Rahm's slur on all God's children with cognitive and developmental disabilities – and the people who love them – is unacceptable, and it's heartbreaking," Palin also wrote in the post Monday evening.

Palin's youngest child, Trig, was born with Down Syndrome in April, 2008.

Special Olympics Chairman Tim Shriver has also taken issue with the language, sending a letter to Emanuel last week asking him to join his organization's campaign to end the use of the word.

The White House has not commented on Emanuel's reported language.

Why did she say about Senator Mc Cain who loosely used the F word?
If she did not know this shame on her maybe she was having a bad day and now she should read Game Change. It is such an eye opener to the political enviroment that she was involved. And she has her nerve to want Rahm fired? Many Christians do not partake in drinking alcohol including champagne- does that mean she should be deleted from the tea party's company?

Smooth move, Palin. Way to overshadow the Democratic in-fighting by trying to be politically correct in a party that cares not for political correctness.

Even when the Dems mess up, she still manages to mess up worse.

Yes, Emmanuel is a pig, but he is OUR pig. I don't think GOPers want to go down this road. If crude, poorly spoken, insensitive louts are fired by both the parties, the GOP would lose many more than the Dems would. Apparently such louts are necessary for our political system to function. The rest of us just have to endure them. Sarah, next time, think it thru before trying to play gotcha on this count.

Palin needs to be told, once and for all, that she and McCain LOST the election, and to close her mouth.

Make her go home and take care of her family, and leave politics to the grownups.

finally i understand why she left the governorship – after she watched the video of her debate with biden and saw that she used the word 'lame' (a word considered offensive by the disabled), she demanded that the governor of alaska fire her.

Palin is retarded. Severely mentally retarded. Emmanuel wasn't making fun of people with disabilities. He shouldn't be punished for her delicate sensitivities. I thought she was a tough, real woman. She made a decision to have a child with disabilities. That's her choice. It's also her choice to take offense. And comparing it to the N-word? That's completely retarded.

So now Sister Sarah, you're part of the "Word Police" that your Fixed News boss, Roger Ails, denouced on live TV just yesterday? Was Rahm crude using the word 'retarded'? Yes. Insensituve? Certainly. Worthy of being fired? Oh come on - only to the extent that you were worthy of being Vice-president. And what is it with you exploiting your children every chance you get to score political points? You say that your kids should be off-limits, but then you trot them out in full view whenever you think you can gain some leverage. Seriously Sarah, you're looking denser and more whiny than ever. Go back to Alaska and club to death a seal or two.

This joke of apolitical leader should be fired by Obama. His total disregard of courtesy in speech plus abuse of special groups as Mrs Palin pointed out is inexcusable. Too many high powered people who have their jobs only because of political appointments or connections should be eliminated in thewaste purge Washington needs to so desparately do. With a pending fiscal collapse of ou rcountry do we really need useless people like this to be paid to trash other members of our society ?

Sarah Palin is a retard. I guess she finds it offensive because of her kid with down syndrome. Who cares what she thinks except the viewers of Fixed News.

That is pretty sad coming from a Woman who quit her job after taking an Oath to do the job.
Letting down the people of Alaska, although they had enough and wanted Palin out.
Now she is just an opportunist.

  24. What a Joke

OK, so why do you have to pull the race card. Not to say that what Emanuel said was correct (definitely a very poor choice of words), not everything has to be synonomous with race. He used a poor choice of words as EVERYBODY has done at some point in time. Do you call for the firing or resignation of those people especially in your party? I think not. Make sure your house is made of plexiglass before you throw stones at someone else's.

Sarah Palin is 100% correct in her statement about the White House Chief of Staff. There is no excuse for government officials using language like this.

It doesn't matter what political party you align yourself with, you should feel just as outraged over this buffoon's use of that word.
