Clinton, the U.N. special envoy for Haiti, got the added responsibility Wednesday of overseeing aid efforts and reconstruction in that country, following a magnitude-7.0 earthquake January 12 that devastated the capital and surrounding areas.

More than 200,000 people were killed, the Haitian government has said.

"More than three weeks after the earthquake, the relief efforts in Haiti have been increasing to meet staggering needs, but the long road to recovery has just begun," Clinton said in a statement.

Clinton traveled to Haiti two weeks ago, days after the quake, to meet with Haitian and U.N. officials and deliver food and water as well as medical supplies, solar flashlights, portable radios and generators, the William J. Clinton Foundation statement said.

After he arrives Friday, he plans to meet with leaders and visit a clinic in Port-au-Prince, the Haitian capital.

"I will return to Port-au-Prince for the second time since the disaster to unload supplies and talk to Haitian officials to ensure assistance continues to be effective, coordinated, and sustained in the weeks and months to come," Clinton said.

President Barack Obama asked Clinton and former President George W. Bush to raise money for relief and recovery in Haiti. The two former president established the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund in response.

Its goal is to "identify and fulfill unmet needs in the region, foster economic opportunity, improve the quality of life of those affected over the long term, and assist the people of Haiti as they build back better," the statement said.

Clinton was envious that Obama and Michelle were getting all the photo-ops. Finally he is able to get his mug in front of the camera.
