Crowley: What you should expect of us

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2010/images/02/06/art.crowley.gi.jpg caption="Crowley takes the reins of CNN's State of the Union Sunday."]On CNN's "State of the Union," host and CNN senior political correspondent Candy Crowley talks to newsmakers and analyzes the week's most important issues. As she prepares to host her first show, Crowley writes on what viewers should expect.

Washington (CNN)
- I've been asked a lot of questions since the announcement that I will take over as anchor of CNN's "State of the Union."

Q: How did you manage a career while raising two boys as a single mother?

I did it like millions and millions of other parents who play the minute-by-minute juggling act: not perfectly, but I loved them above all else and did the best I knew how.

Q: Where did you grow up?

Michigan and Missouri.

Q: Will you miss the political campaign trail?

No, because I am a reporter through and through. I'll be on the campaign trail. You can anchor and be on the road at the same time, especially if your children are all grown up.

I hope she's more middle of the road that the republican that had that show for a year. I quit watching.

I understand he will now take the 7 pm republican gossip spot, just ahead of the 8 pm gossip spot. Those people would be better suited on Faux Gossip Channel.

Congratulations Candy! Please, please don 't report silliness on Palin or Beck. We know we can rely on good, honest reliable news from CNN on things that really matter.

Candy has a long way to go in hiding her partisanship.I used to like her more, but she is better than John "i want to be King".

I wish you the absolute best. The part I enjoyed most was you saying you are going to try and get them off their talking points. Good luck with that. I also hope that you will not allow them to push obvious BS and get away with it. Challenge them when they are telling bold-face lies. It is the medias responsibility to present the facts, not both sides but the FACTS! I hope you will do that.

She will be very good at running this program. You could always tell John King was in the tank with the Party of no. Wish her the best of luck in her new endavor.

I'm very conservative, and I've found CNN to lean pretty far left for my taste(with a little more balance recently, to be honest), but Candy Crowley has always struck me as an honest, quality journalist. I look forward to her show.

I hope Ms. Crowley will not be as Conservative leaning as John King. She has already shown to take a conservative viewpoint. I am speaking as a young Republican who is feeling the alienation by CNN and the Tea Party whom I believe has treated President Obama different from other presidents. I know that race has something to do with it and I believe it will eventually backfire. Please do not take young Americans for granted!

I like Candy Crowley, but its been very very obvious that she drinks a lot of Obama Kool-Aide!!! Lets hope she'll leave the Kool-Aide behind and be a responible skeptical journalist again!

    Candy,

Do us all a favor and keep "plastic" Matilin and her raging geezer husband Carville off this show. Their "divisive" tag team offers NOTHING of substance. Anyone who has ever seen them before could write their speech for them. I don't think Matilin's face can stand any more plastic surgery. She is starting to look like Joan Rivers.

    Good luck on the show.

    Good luck!

I've always enjoyed your reporting over the years as you don't tend (at least in my opinion) to "reveal" your political direction.

I liked the comment about not accepting just talking points. These politicians work for us, not the other way around. And I hope you really drill down on their statements, not just gloss over and get simple answers. Make 'em squirm, not in an adversarial way, but when they're done with any of your interviews, I hope they can say it was fair, tough, and made me have more than just the normal rambling answer. Looking forward to watching.

Candy Crowley certainly deserves this job. She is a great lady and
I am proud of CNN for recognizing this and giving her this
opportunity. (No we are not related), I just like the way she
presents herself. No yelling, no name calling, no obnoxious
behavior, just common sense. You go girl!!!
