Palin's 'an engaging person,' Biden says
(CNN) - Vice President Joe Biden said Wednesday he's a fan of Sarah Palin's personality but questions where some of the former Alaska governor's comments "come from."
"I do I like her. She's an engaging person. She has a great personality," Biden said in an interview with CNN's Larry King airing Wednesday. "I don't agree with what she says and I think some of the things she says are not, um, not um…"
Pressed to continue his thought, Biden said, "Well I, you know it's sort of like, some of the comments made are just so far sort of out there. I just don't know where they come from, but...I understand why people like her. "
Asked if he feared Palin politically, Biden questioned the breadth of the former Republican vice presidential nominee's appeal.
"My sense is that Sarah appeals, Gov. Palin appeals to a group of people who are generally frustrated, feel disenfranchised, are very conservative, not all of them…Tea Party people, but beyond that," Biden said. "She has appeal beyond that as well, but I don't know that it represents anything approaching a significant portion of the population."

I think what Vice President Biden is trying to say is that Sarah Palin is basically an idiot who appeals to morons, but that she is physically attractive, and entertaining in a grotesque way. Sort of like watching a female reincarnation of Joseph McCarthy, or that other "energizing" populist from WWII Germany.

Palin's comments come from "an open mouth and an empty brain". She doesn't like the R word and goes on to criticize those who are educated and intelligent. Palin has come unresolved personal issues that have nothing to do with politics. She uses her disabled child as a weapon, which he's not, instead of giving this child the privacy he needs to develop to his potential. Keep in mind, Palin herself called her son retarded and I have never heard her say her son has a disability.
I am a total fan of Sarah Palin and the appeal is maybe 10% because of her great personality. 50% of it is because of her solid understanding of the role of government in America and where it starts and ends. This 50% let's call her conservative values and her command of how this ideology works. With a good firm understanding of ideology like that, decisions get made quickly. The final 40% of her appeal is her ability to execute what she sees needs to be done. She gets things done that need to happen. She does not get side-tracked by opposition or speed bumps. This is a key feature of a leader. Resilience is so important for today's political leaders.

Sarah Palin is obviously engaging in terms of her vivacious personality, but she is not a serious and competant political leader. Palin is not a thoughful, well informed nor well traveled person . She makes statements that are simplistic, foolish and are just plain wrong. Her book lacks depth of knowledge about foriegn or domestic policy and also lacks practical solution to national problems such as unemployment and the aliing economy.
Biden is very kind. Palin is entertaining but completely uninformed, uneducated, unprepared, and unaware. She's a walking, talking contradiction and she is untruthful about ridiculous things that would be easy to be truthful about. Case in point: she did not oppose the bridge to nowhere until it became unpopular and she still accepted the earmark funds. So, why lie about it? She did not sell the airplane on eBay but tried to sell it on eBay. It was sold in a deal made by a Republican speaker of the house in Alaska. And it was sold at at loss but I believe it was McCain who said it made a profit.
She makes claims about Alaska's energy that are not at all supported by facts. It would be embarrassing to normal people but she doesn't seem to have a clue.
She snipes at opponents for doing or saying things that she says or does herself. She is simply a political hack who is popular with the anger and fear crowd.
