According to an ABC News/Washington Post survey, 71 percent of the public say the former Alaska governor is not qualified to serve in the White House, with 26 percent saying the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee is qualified to be president. The 26 percent who say Palin is qualified is down 12 points from an ABC News/Washington Post poll from November.
Twenty-eight percent of people questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey from November indicated that Palin was qualified, with 7 in 10 feeling she was not qualified to be president.
The ABC News/Washington Post poll, released Thursday morning as Palin marks her 46th birthday, also indicates that even a majority of Republicans now view Palin as not qualified to serve as commander-in-chief. According to the survey, 45 percent of conservatives see her as qualified, down 21 points from last November.
The survey also indicates that 37 percent of Americans have a favorable view of her, with 55 percent holding an unfavorable view. According to a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey from last month, 43 percent of the public had a favorable opinion and 46 percent had an unfavorable view of Palin.
The poll was conducted February 4-8, as Palin gave the keynote address in Nashville, Tennessee, at what was billed as the first national Tea Party convention. The survey indicates that Americans are split on the Tea Party movement, with 35 viewing the movement in a favorable way, 4 in 10 holding an unfavorable impression, and a quarter of those questioned unsure about the year old movement. A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey conducted last month indicated that 4 in 10 were unsure, with one-third holding a favorable view and one quarter having an unfavorable view of the Tea Party movement.
The ABC News/Washington Post poll indicates that 45 percent generally agree with the movement's small government positions on the issues, with 36 percent disagreeing and 1 in 5 unsure.
The ABC News/Washington Post poll was conducted by telephone, with 1,004 adults questioned. The survey's overall sampling error is plus or minus 3 percentage points.

Let's hope even more people gain a little more wisdom and recognize that Sarah Palin shouldn't appear on any ballot.
unfortunately, i believe the woman to be an idiot / hasn't the intelligence that's required to be in office, much less the president. she may not be a bad person, but her egotistical drive to create a 'real america with real americans' is not at all inclusive. so put the two together – not smart and exclusive doesn't make for a good mix.
What an idiot. She loves to critisize others, but the moment you say anything about her she tries to wrap herself in the poor victim flag.
Sarah Palin really IS a typical American, and the typical American is not qualified to be President. It was only a matter of time before the American public came to this realization.
Let's hope the public continues to wake up about who and what this person is. Nasty, divisive, exactly what we have had more than enough of and exactly what the country does NOT need at this important juncture in our history. The sooner she disappears from public view; the sooner her voice is heard only by those who should hear it – her family – the better it will be for everyone. To Adolph Palin – yes, I believe in the "hopi – changi" thing. President O may fail, but he is the absolute best we have had in many many years, and yes he does bring hope to those who had forgotten that it still existed in this country.
Most Americans do not support Palin's hard core reactionary right wing agenda.
Glad to see that people have come to see the truth. She needs to disappear. I do not think the woman is playing with a full deck. I am so tired of hearing about her that I really do dislike the woman. She is not smart at all.
She`s pretty thats about it. Her political views suck and it makes her look stupid
What frightens us is that she herself doesn't seem to understand that many people are more intelligent than she is. I'm sharp, but I couldn't get a Ph.D in particle physics or retrain to be a neurosurgeon. Palin seems to feel that her community college degree is the equal of one from Harvard or MIT, and that neurosurgeons or physicists are just ordinary Joe Sixpax who went into the family business instead of talented and intelligent professionals. Get some perspective, and a dose of humility; she could be a force for good if she'd drop all this "boo, the black president is a scary monster" stuff. Maybe she's delusional?
All is not bad. The Tea Partiers, Birthers, Republicans, right-wing zealots, and wingnuts still love her.
Think about it. The public is not fooled. She is in it for the dollars, her insatiable appetite for attention and ego. Anyone who would call their own child a "retard" lacks the basic element of being self-respectful, which means she cannot respect others as she cannot respect herself.
Not surprising news.. the more she engages in public appearances and opens her mouth and all that blah blah comes out that only makes sense to what sits in between her ears.. the more people realizes that she knows nothing, takes rumours and runs with it , does not research on the 'so called facts' she has and comes out more and more looking like a fool .. Happy Birthay oh folksy one !!
The most surprising thing of all is that she was ever considered to be worthy of becoming President in the first place. It was a mistake that McCain and his staff made that ever introduced this in the beginning.
Without that push on the national state and if she were to come along on her on, she would never have been considered to begin with.
THANK GOD!! Onky 28% of Americans are idiots
Does this mean she is not likely to be Miss USA ? Or even Mrs. USA ?
Who is going to tell her ? TPers ? Flat Earthers ? Mt. Rushmore ?
This is such a set back for real Americans, ya know. Darn !
The fact that she was not qualified was apparent almost from the day McCain nominated her. If he had any hope of winning the POTUS it evaporated that day.
But Shhhhh we DEMS want her to be the GOP nominee.
Go SaRAH SaRAH SaRAH
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
She should go pull a dog sled
I didn't really need a poll to tell me that this vacuous empty vessel isn't qualified to lead a church prayer, much less the United States. You can fool some of the people some of the time, but...
The general public is more intelligent than I had thought.
Maybe this is what a "good and honest book" will do!
Alot of us knew this back when first introduced to her by J.M..
Lets hope that she keeps on showing her true colors and "abilities" at future Republican functions so the remaining 29% of the nation will see the light and thus guarantee that we keep her out of our nations and the world political future.
Sarah ...for the record ...
Like the majority that elected our sitting President I still believe in all that "Hopey ..." "Changey "stuff .....
My biggest "hope" is you and negative, bipartisan self go away and crawl back into the woods of Alaska so we can insure our world "change " for the better in the next seven years !!!!.
She was not even qualified to be Alaskan governor. She is a clown.
She is qualified to appear regularly on Fox. That's it.
I don't know what is sadder...
That is took this long for 12% of the people to realize she is not qualified to be President or that there are still 26% who have not figured it out yet.
If Sarah Palin becomes President, we will all be better off living in Haiti. We would be better off with Tina Fey in the White house than this right wing nut!!
