Next Tea Party convention to be held in Las Vegas

(CNN) - The Tea Party is headed to Las Vegas this summer.

Tea Party Nation, the group that earlier this month held what was billed as the first national Tea Party convention, said Wednesday that its second convention will be held in Las Vegas July 15-17.

Judson Phillips, a Tennessee lawyer who formed Tea Party Nation, announced the date at a news conference during the first event, which was held earlier this month in Nashville, Tennessee. But he did not reveal the location.

"President Obama told Americans not to go to Las Vegas so that is exactly where Tea Party Nation will be holding our next event," Tea Party Nation said in a statement.

That's a reference to recent comments made by the president. Earlier this month, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada told the White House to "lay off Las Vegas" after Obama slighted the city during a riff about government spending. The president's comments also sparked condemnations from Nevada Republicans.

In addition to speakers and political trainers at the convention, the Las Vegas event will "also be presenting the first Tea Party Nation Conservative Film Festival," according to the Tea Party Nation.

- CNN Political Producer Peter Hamby contributed to this report.

Good for them! actually Ozero tells people not to go and waste money at Vegas, yet he has no problem jetting there (on our dime mind you)to help Reid raise money for his reelection.

The guy talks out both sides of his mouth so much that we don't know what to believe anymore. I'm suprised that people still stick up for this incopetent fool.

SEE YA LATER REID!! Can't wait until you are thrown back under the rock you crawled out from under. Can't wait until November when the anti American Radical Liberal Party is removed from congress. As for OBOZO, definite one and done (unless of course impeachment happens first). Time to get rid of The American Al Queda Libtards once and for all.

Maybe sarah pathetic will come and speak again. It seems like most of the other speakers cancelled. Then it can become the Sarah Palin Show. With 7+ out of 10 Americans saying she isn't fit to serve that should work. Mayor-quit, governor quitter, law suits into the millions. What a fine head for the tea buggers!

He said not to go to Vegas and save your money to payoff your debts or retire early. So, the Tea Party wants their so-called money starved followers to blow money in Vegas. Explain to me again why people who join this organizations are not considered hypocrites? I wonder if its going to cost another few hundred to just to get in the door.

And these people expect us to believe that they are a non-partisan, anti-government movement?

They're clearly an arm of the GOP, and like all conservatives that go on and on about limiting government, what they really mean, is that they want to limit government to conservatives.

Get over it, you lost. Democrats – grow a pair and stand up to these goons for goodness sake.

Please stay true to the saying "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas". The rest of us don't want wall to wall coverage of a small for-profit freak show.

And yet another lie – President Obama did NOT tell people not to go to Las Vegas. He suggested it wasn't a smart thing for college students to go to Vegas and gamble away their tuition money. So, does the Tea Party support gambling away college funds?

Are these Tea Party people that stupid? Do they simply not understand the language or are they intentional using deception to press their "whatever the heck it is" agenda?

If you have to lie or mislead people to gain support, you must have a really lousy agenda.

To the Tea Party: I support Obama's position that college student should not go to Vegas and gamble away their college tuition.
