Over the next three days, conservative activists will fill out a ballot that asks: "Who would you vote for as the next Republican nominee for president?"
Watch CPAC Live on CNN.com/live!
The choices, as listed in order on the ballot: Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, Texas Rep. Ron Paul, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, Indiana Rep. Mike Pence, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, South Dakota Sen. John Thune, and a slot for "Other."
The ballot also asks conference-goers to rate how favorable they view several top political figures, including conservative talkers Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, House Minority Leader John Boehner, and Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele.
The straw poll is being conducted by Republican polling firm Fabrizio, McLaughlin and Associates.

Politics is like driving. To go forward, put it in 'D'. To go backwards, put it in 'R'.
(not my quote)
The fact that sarah palins name is even on this list shows you just how desperate the republicans are. The truth is conservatives are the party of No and America knows it. Any time a party says no to everything the president proposes something is wrong. Either they are incredibley stupid or they care about their own political gain more than the progress of the country.
The GOP and TEA Party look exactly like the founders. Old white folks that don’t want to pay taxes. They don’t own slaves, not to the public’s knowledge, at least not at this writing.
They do benefit from the fact those men wrote, debated and hammered out a document that allows them to assemble. A skill that seems to be in short supply these days!
Republicans vs Barrack Obama.
Republicans 75%
Barrack Obama 25%
A landslide victory for any Republican Candidate
Vote yes for republicans and they will vote NO for you!
Anybody notice the lack of diversity in this crowd?
That, in itself, seems to speak volumes about their core values and underlying intentions.
Since the Tea Party membership is comprised primarily of white Southern segregationists and white holier-than-thou evangelicals holding a bible in one hand and an AK-47 in the other, I would add Senators John Ensign and David Vitter, and Governor Mark Sanford to your presidential list. How could the Republican conservative right-wing have forgotten these 3 party leaders of high moral character and role models for us Americans. Throw in Beck, Hannity, and Limbaugh for VP and your party really has what it takes to lead America in the 21st Century!!!!!
the same old same old I just find it interesting that now they want to
repackage there crap in different paper say they are for conservative
values what that means and you know that if they get there way we
will see all our money go to the rich and the military and you better
hide because there out to get us I love the fear factor it is always great
to keep everyone in line
If anyone on that list is elected, America is doomed.
Hopey-Changey (wink, you betcha!)
President Barack Hussein Obama (proudly)
in 2012!
WOW, LOOK AT THESE PEOPLE. I don't really think they know what a true conservative is, like limited government even in your personal life. Little too Bohemian for them. I think to them being a conservative is living like we did with Ward and June Clever, dear. It's all fake and these false conservative Pol's just feed into it. Time to vote Libertarian.
Just look at all the white old dont want to change, hate the fact we have a half black President just look at them sickening oh and by the way I AM WHITE! These people are the ones stopping progress for this country they dont want to leave the 50s and 60s they are stuck and dont want CHANGE Pathetic they had their time!
LOL ...
The GoP is in for a big suprise come this fall ... they thing their spoiled child antics are going to win them something ??
give me a break ... people around here know exactly who to blame for the mess we're in & it isn't Obama ...
good bye GoP ...
Keep it up libs! November is going to be a democrat massacre.
Glenn Beck? That fool accused Obama of making a deal with Brazil for offshore oil in a sweetheart deal for George Soros! His entire rant was completely false. The deal was actually brokered by Bush appointees and it benefits American businesses!
Obama said college students shouldn't gambling away their tuition in Vegas. Republicans have turned that into an anti-Vegas issue. Democrats should be asking why Republicans want college students to gamble away their tuition!
Does these guys ever apologize for their nonsense, No? Being Republican means never having to say you're sorry.
Where is Condi's name Hmmmmmmm
Just tell me a time when the GOP has had smaller government? The government grew under Reagan and Bush.
I didn't see McShame on their, then I can say it's a repeat from the 2008. I see the same fools who lost and want to give another try, but this time it's for the obivious! I choose Other! thanks but no thanks GOP ....lossers.........2012!
Democrats had their shot and are failing miserably. It's only natural to give the other party a shot. Look at history. Jimmy Carter failed at the economy, Regan got in. Buush Sr failed, paving the way for Bill Clinton. It's normal in our political cycle to replace what's not working with something else.
NO birth control be sure and have as many babys as you can "absolutely no birth control allowed " then when they reach 18 years send to the Bush/Cheney war of lies don't that sound like Republicans ?
They keep hollaring about the spending have you forgotten where we were with Bush /Cheney and the debt they left us?
Some people certainly have short memories or none at all.
