Bristol Palin to make acting debut

ABC announced Tuesday Palin will play herself on the ABC Family show "The Secret Life of the American Teenager," set to air this summer. According to the network, Palin will play a friend of the show's main character, Amy. The show has recently focused on how Amy reacts to an unexpected pregnancy.
"I am thrilled to be on this show and to be part of a program that educates teens and young adults about the consequences of teen pregnancy," Palin said in a statement provided by ABC.
Then 18 years old, Palin gave birth to her son Tripp in December 2008. The pregnancy was announced shortly after Sarah Palin, who was Alaska governor at the time, joined the Republican presidential ticket as Sen. John McCain's running mate. The younger Palin was once engaged to Tripp's father, Levi Johnston, but the two of have since parted ways and are currently involved in a legal battle over child support payments.
"We're thrilled to have [Bristol] join us, and I think she will bring additional attention to the issues facing teen parents that we've been exploring for a couple seasons now," Brenda Hampton, the show's executive producer, said in a statement.

Wow. She gets pregnant at 17, has a baby, breaks ties with the baby's father so the state of Alaska can support her, becomes a spokesperson for abstinence, gets her own PR company with her awesome life experience and education, and now is getting into acting....more time away from the babe, I guess. No one will ever accuse the Palin women of being domestic divas...not these gals...there's a whole world out there, and they mean to take advantage of every open door and open wallet.
Acting debut? She has been acting for years for her mother's political aspirations. She has been acting when she claims she is responsible.
What!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So now if you are the daughter of a former governor it means you can act? Not to mention the fact the Palins want privacy!!! The hypocrisy never ends – they slammed Levi for having similar ambitions but it is okay for Bristol to be an aspiring (??) actress.
she's not the first teen parent........................... this is stupid; more publicity for the crazy family they are; Palin and her family are no more different than the average Joe; she just so happened to get the governor's seat and was among 4 who were 'eligible' to get the nod for VP during the election............... her party suffered when she was among the nominees; they suffered soon as she opened her mouth.... dumb as a box of rocks................. she's an embarassment to women, republicans, Alaskans.................. only word she used on the regular during the debates was 'maverick'; she didn't have a clue so what makes her her have a fan base...... she's easy on the eyes; eye candy for some old codger....and the women who support her are mindless... that's it............. she brought nothing else to the table; now her daughter is being exploited to bring attention to another mindless reality show........................ Palin is dumb, her daughter is following her footsteps

I thought the acting debut was back at the GoP convention in 2008 ... She fooled all those people into believing that her & Levi were all in love & stuff and going to 'make it right' by getting married ...

If Sarah Palin wants us to "leave her familiy alone", then they should leave US alone. Was it a coincidence that Bristol Palin was the one who posted a response to the creators of "Family Guy" on her Facebook page? I think not.

If Bristol were black or from an urban inner city background, would she be a story???? Because i know quite a few single teen mothers who could use a hand as well, as they try to raise a child on top of struggling to get an education/degree so that child would have some semblance of a positive upbringing.
Palin said leave her kids out of it, huh? Yet they constantly seek the limelight. Just Alaskan back-country trash, cashing in on the opportunity McCain created.
ABC Family.. where we teach your kids having unprotected sex out of wedlock is a good thing (if youre white).

She "pretends" well so acting will be a natural for her. She is, after all, from the family of great pretenders.....her mom pretended to be important, her dad pretended to be gov. of alaska, she pretended to not be pregnant, she pretended to be shocked at family guy......it just goes on and on.
