Washington (CNN) -House Republicans will have a truth squad standing by to fact check during Thursday's televised bipartisan White House health care summit, House Minority Leader John Boehner announced Wednesday. And Boehner's truth squad has an unusual characteristic – more than half of the fact-checking team is made up of doctors.
Here's a list of the House GOP doctors who will be standing by Thursday:
Dr. Paul Broun, R-Georgia
Dr. Michael Burgess, R-Texas
Dr. Bill Cassidy, R-Louisiana
Dr. John Fleming, R-Louisiana
Dr. Phil Gingrey, R-Georgia
Dr. Parker Griffith, R-Alabama
Dr. Tim Murphy, R-Pennsylvania
Dr. Tom Price, R-Georgia
Dr. Phil Roe, R-Tennessee
In addition to these 9 M.D.'s, Rep. Charles Boustany, R-Louisiana, will be part of the group representing House Republicans at the White House meeting.
On the Senate side, the GOP is also sending two more doctors to meet with President Obama: Sens. Tom Coburn, R-Oklahoma, and John Barrasso, R-Wyoming.
Since mid 2009, Coburn and Barrasso have been hosting "The Senate Doctors Show," a twice weekly health care reform Webcast where the two lawmakers take questions submitted by the public.

I've heard some of these doctors recite the GOP talking points, why would anyone believe they would only speak the truth! I trust factcheck.org more than these GOP doctors.
Not exactly a bi-partisan group of doctors Senator Boehner has selected as his "truth squad"
Of course, they will lock-step and will say whatever he wants them to.
So, everyone on that list is a Republican politician. What knowledge would they have of the truth. They will review the proceedings using the script provided to them by the Republican leadership. This "truth squad" is worth nothing.
Ten doctors. So??? Are they Frank Burns or Hawkeye?
I've never understood why doctors feel compelled to add their degree following their name when expressing a political opinion.
Palm Beach John is going to try to make this all about medical procedures and it's not. The only way doctors will be impacted is in their wallet. Will they average a half mil or just $400K? Will their daughter have to get by on a two year old BMW or will she be able to trade every year?
Heavy sigh
You moron repub bashers-do you accept a health bill that Washington does not use.I do not and unless it is the same then your favorite party should say NO.
What does that have to do with health insurance? I'd like a "truth commission" of patients who have had medical procedures, had their insurance dropped or have suffered after a doctor made a horrible mistake. That's the "truth commission" I'd like to see.
Very interesting. Looks like the Republicans don't know any Democratic doctors. Not very bipartisan,I would say.
Now how can you get a fair and impartial answers from these people if they are all republicans , sounds like another republican scam to me.........why didn't he put democrats and republicans on his so-called truth squad ?
So the Boner can't read (his new toupee is to tight) so he lines up a bunch of Rs to read for him. Way to go, orange man.
If John Boehner wants BIPARTISANSHIP as he claims he does, WHY all REPUBLICAN DOCTORS, why not JUST ALL DOCTORS? This is nothing but another political stunt by the orange man. He knows Republicans have NOT OFFERED anything but DO NOTHING, SOLVE NOTHING, WANT NOTHING politics.
This clearly proves that Boehner is NOT about working TOGETHER with the President on passing healthcare reform. John Boehner is ALL about political posturing and pandering. It's sickening.
These sickening arrogant elitist republicans are the reason we need laws to protect patients from their malpractice. As for health reform, Boner is starting to wet his diapers, and knows when the facts get to the American people, the GOP is toast. He was in favor of transparency before he was against it.
If they were really interested in the truth, they would ask a bipartisan group to review all claims, but they're not really interested in truth, are they??? The CBO has already spoken, and their "plan" doesn't help the uninsured, doesn't save as much money as the House or Senate bills and doesn't really help poeple with preexisting conditions.
All of these "doctors" except one are from Confederate states. More evidence that the Republican Party is increasingly becoming a white Southern right-wing cult.
Will they be going as conservatives that don't care about people? Will they be going as doctors who want to see the most people covered and given health care? It should be interesting to see if their training or their ideology directs them.
Do these morons think tort reform will get 40 million uninsured health care? All talk and no solutions by the lying party of hate and fear.
ALL Quacks, I'm sure. How many of them are General Practitioners or Family Practice Doctors?
Let's fact check the doctors to see just how much they get paid, what they drive, how many homes they own. How much they get in kick-backs from Big Pharma.
Let me take this list and do some fact-checks of my own.
Probably all these so called "doctors'" are politicians now because they sucked as health care providers. I thought the repugnicans were crazy when they talked about death panels but now they have one of their own.
If these doctors were any good, they would still be in practice, and not drawing a welfare check from the American people.
Don't hold back Republicans, this is nothing but a charade and part of this phony as hell administrations SPOKEN IDEA to pivot and instead of substance use STYLE POINTS in a pretty package.
Hammer them with facts and figures and the teleprompter in chief with the MSM's backing can lie and distort the truth, but the FACTS will speak for themselves.
Dog and pony Owebama, it "aint" working on MOST of the country.
Whether they have MD's is not the issue. It is whether they will act up to the professional ethics of an MD will be. Recall Senator Frist from a few years ago who abandoned professional ethics to play politics, only to apologize later when he admitted he bent the truth for short-term political gain? That's probably what we'll get. A bunch of politicians spewing partisan bile who wave their MD's only when convenient.
So Boehner is worried about fact checking all of a sudden, after more than a year of lying through his teeth. What a laugh.
I can't help but notice that all but one of the people on this list are from southern states. Southern states that are, of course, known for their incorruptibility and high standards of ethics in politics...
Hey Boehner – better check to make sure its not a trap – also check the size of the room – idiot...
ALL of the doctors are Republicans?????
How impartial can their opinions be?
Do the Republicans think that we are stupid?????
The Democrats need to bring a line-up of Democratic doctors to present a balanced opinion!
If you people opened your eyes you would relize the irony here:
The Democrats don't have this many people that aren't lawyers, let alone doctors. They are all lawyers or Wall St firm cronies.
WAKE UP and vote them all out.
