Pelosi: We can sell health care bill to the American people

Washington (CNN) - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is dismissing Republican claims that recent polls support their opposition to the current health care proposals, countering that the real problem is that the American people don't have a bill to judge.

"When we have a bill, which we will in a matter of days, then that is the bill that we can sell," Pelosi told CNN's Candy Crowley in an interview Friday. She added that the final legislation will settle differences between the House and Senate bills, and that Americans will be more supportive once the bill is released.

"I feel very confident about what's in there," she said.

The latest CNN/Opinion Research poll shows that nearly three quarters of respondents believe Congress should either start over on a new bill or drop health care reform altogether.

Earlier Friday, Speaker Pelosi told reporters she's asking the Senate to "act upon" reconciliation to move forward, a legislative procedural tool that allows bills to pass with a simple majority.

Pelosi is an idiot and should be tried for high crimes and treason. You couldn't give $100,000 for each vote and get it through.

Pass it. Take out the special considerations first. Then Pass it. Time for the Democrats to do what we voted them in for. Get the backbone, guts, or whatever you need to stand up to the Republicans. The only thing they know how to do is use there money and there mouth.

I continue to be amazed that the Republicans keep saying that the American people are not in favor of Nat'l Health Care. First of all, they (The Republicans) have pushed so many lies that there is no way for the truth to be known at this time. I believe that once a Health Care bill is presented to the congress, it will pass and all the better for the American people.
For the contiuned anti health care groups out there, how do you have the nerve to call yourselves true Americans when you want to denie fellow Americans health care coverage??? Do you have all the facts or are you simply republican cattle following the herd's bull ( Republican party).
Supposedly, we are a nation of compassionate people. Does that only apply to people of other countires??? Let's take care of our own for a change and show the world what a great nation we are.

Is there a way to get money under the cash for clunkers program if Nancy Pelosi is offered up. Im sure she's worth at least a penny. "We can sell this bill to the American people"–Nancy Pelosi

Obozo and Pelosi are two peas in a pod. The are both the equivalent to a used car salesmen. They both attempt to sell crap under the guise of gold to the American people. The stimulus was sold under the guise of a job creator when it did everything but create jobs. The Crap Healthcare Bill is being sold as something that will help ALL Americans and improve the economy. Give me a break. These radicals have no idea what a hurting they are going to get in November. As far as one and done OBOZO, he will be lucky if he is not impeached way before 2012. Count on it.

Obama's bipartisan health care bill rhetoric will be just another lie, but one he used in the State of The Union Address. That makes it an official lie, I guess. They don't care anymore. They have obligations to the unions and other special interests so they have backed themselves into a corner. Unfortunately, the American people will pay for these promises for decades with a severely overpriced hack job health care system.

What arrogance, topped only by Obozo himself. CNN, please give the quotes made by Pelosi when Tom DeLay received an admonishment by the Ethics Committee the same as Rangel and then compare the remarks on Rangel.

Sorry Nancy, we don't want the bureaucratic nightmare you're peddling as healthcare reform - it makes us sick! What you, Reid and Obama are trying to shove down our throats is socialized medicine.

The Republicans have a far better plan, one that lets our market economy work like it was intended by the founding fathers.

So why don't you take your plan and sell it to someone who might appreciate it - like Hugo Chavez.

As she stated when Brown was elected in Mass, the voice of the american people meant little, she would pass her bill without the Republicans. She really isn't interested in the people she works for. She is an elitist who, like Obama, feels she knows what is best for the country. One more lie to add to her list.

Queen Nan couldn't sell a chocolate candy bar to a fatman for a penny! Fortunately, the American majority knows what's in this obscene bill and they don't want it!

These Democrats just don't get it. Central planning, socialized medicine, government take-over of entire sections of the economy, escilating debt, growing unemployment, enslaving our children to the government. The more help we get from DC the more our future prospects for prosperity decline.
