Bunning still not answering questions

(CNN) - Kentucky Sen. Jim Bunning is still not answering questions about his decision to block a bill that would extend unemployment benefits to millions of jobless Americans.

CNN's Dana Bash and a CNN camera crew again tried to get Bunning to comment more extensively on the controversy but the senator emphatically declined.

They hope if things get worse, it will all be blamed on Obama. Pretty poor reason to shaft the people who voted for you.

Where was this guy during the Bush spending spree?

Where were all of the republicans during that time?

Why is it such a big deal now that we are in need as a country to stop spending?

It just so happens that he is doing all of this in his last year. I think the republican right extremist put him up to this.

    What's he going to say?

"I'm a hypocrite who didn't mind GW Bush irresponsibly cutting taxes during wartime that resulted in the massive deficits we now face!"

    Or how about this:

"I've shown through actions and words that I will do anything to make President Obama look bad, including hurting millions of Americans!"

Or how about this oldie but goodie:

    "I’m just following orders!"

(From the GOP, whose goal is to try to make President Obama and our country fail, treat the American public like we’re stupid and have no memory of the GOP’s actions, then use fear, division and hate as a strategy of regaining political power.)

Of course he declined. If he had a reason, he would have given it. But, since it's a Dem bill, he can't possibly support it.

Bunning is a typical republican jerk. It is time to vote all these hypocrites out of office.

  7. if I was crazy, I'd be a conservative too

Finger man has no idea why he does what he does. As a pampered pro athlete, now a pampered senator with the best health car in America, he has no idea about the difficulties the common working person faces each day. It is time to start counting the days until this idiot is gone.

Just call it for what it is:

Bunning isn't running for re-election, so he agreed to play the bad guy and fall on his sword on behalf of the GOP, so they could all pretend their hands are clean but still get what they want...i.e., further delay, gridlock, opportunities for vomitting ideological rhetoric and, ultimately, more suffering citizens who they hope to convince the Dems are to blame.

He is doing that because of a bill passed last month call PayGo, to legally pass this bill they have to find funds for it in the budget or cut the budget somewhere else, something that dems don't seem to want to do.

Jim Bunning had an outstanding Major League career.
Sadly, the same cannot be said for his political life.

I wonder if Bunning will expect unemployment benefits when he's kicked out of office for being a member of the Party Of Palin....

You can tell Bunning loves to be the center of attention, good or evil. He likes being the one in control and the master of evil.

Just watch him slip with some bigotted remarks about women and certain religions. He must love the power he is using now. Selfish man, only a child really.

  19. Wisconsonite - End the Anti-Trust Exemption for Insurance Companies!

Here's your Republican party at work for you, all of you middle-income Americans who are dumb enough to vote Republican! There is no one but yourselves to blame! This guy doesn't care one tiny bit if you can't pay your bills because you lost your job and can't, no matter how hard you try, to find another one! This guy does not care one tiny bit if you lost your health insurance when you lost your job and you, or one of your family members, are sick and can't afford to pay your medical bills! He, and the rest of his party, care about the wealthiest people in this country that they gave tax cuts to! They care about special interest, like the insurance companies that are raking in BILLIONS off of your pain!

How many of you voted for George W. Bush the SECOND time?? After he'd already given huge tax cuts to the weathiest 2% of this country with no way to pay for it! After he'd gotten us into 2 huge wars with no way to pay for them! After he'd already raised the deficit by TRILLIONS and was bringing us to the brink of another depression! What did you idiots do???? You enabled him to screw this country, MY country, over for another 4 years!!!

And now you have the absolute GALL to blame President Obama for the problems we have???? You are ALL responsible and you need to start owning up to it AND STOP VOTING FOR REPUBLICANS BECAUSE THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU!

Why should Bunning care about everyday, working people? He voted against regulating tobacco as a drug and against the SCHIPS program. He has one of the worst records on the environment and civil rights in the Senate. He also supports dismantling Social Security and privatizing it. If you are on or near retirement age, how would your pension look right now without Social Security?

  21. Lost in Texas FOREVER

has anyone ever suggested that maybe this senator has some mental issues? His behavior of lately doesn't seem right for someone that is supposed to be mentally stable. And I am NOT saying this to be mean-spirited...he may have some problems.

  22. JILL

Notice how Republican Bunning had no problem giving himself and his fellow Republican thugs raises. No problem supporting all of George W. pet projects. Bunning lined his pockets with gold, now he's suddenly infatuated with how to pay for stuff???? Shame.

Just think of what Jim Bunning is doing, how many Republicans have denounced his actions, and Bunning's attitude towards legitmate media questions when you cast your votes in November.
