Source: Rangel to temporarily step down from chairmanship
Washington (CNN) - Rep. Charlie Rangel will announce Wednesday that he is temporarily stepping down as chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, a source has told CNN.

Rep. Rangel represents all that is wrong with Congress today. He will be stepping down "temporarily", which means until he can make more deals in his favor, not for his district and certainly not for the US.
Who does not know that typical African leaders do not resign? they always "step aside" ...one of the reasons why there are many dictators in Africa!. Here is an African-American with a typical African style of leadership! Good luck America!
Why just temporariy? Corruption doesn't go away due to a forced 'quiet time' in the penalty box.
Why would he 'step down temporarily' from the chairmanship?
He's clearly another tax-cheat and crook. He's made his bed, let him lie in it!
Does he think a 'temporary' absence from the scene will make it all just go away?

Rangel should resign. We don't need openly corrupt politicians in congress. Take Ensign and some of the others with you.
(Wouldn't it be nice if Repugnants would be bipartisan enough to admit that Bush and Cheney belong in jail? They can see a Democrat's corruption in a heartbeat and call for removal, but 10 years after Bush/Cheney took office, they still can't see one of their many crimes.)
Why? Why? Is this man not charged with felony fraud? Why is he not facing indictment? This is a slap on the wrist, a kid smoking a joint would be facing jail, he takes a bribe and he goes scott free?
Mr Rangel should not temporarily step down he should step down perminantally. The democratic party is the most corrupt institution in the US for accepting a temporary step down. This tax cheat is writing tax laws in the House ways amd means.
Now you see the man has no ethics or morals...he should resign...or be removed...fat chance..another lie by the Obama administration directly out of Pelosi's mouth....
Hopefully "temporarily" means "for the rest of his life". That pompous dirtbag is a prime example of what is wrong with government. I'll bet there are at least 20 people living within a few miles of his house that deserve the job more than he does.

It is about time he steps down. He has no right in taking advatage of his position to get what he wants. He needs to get out and for Good!!
Now that Charlie has stepped down from Chairman of the H W and M committee, it's time for him to step into jail!

Charles should already be serving a jail term, not just taking a leave of absence.
