Romney: Palin is qualified to be President

Washington (CNN) - Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, considered to be a leading candidate for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, said Friday that he thinks potential GOP rival Sarah Palin is qualified to serve as president of the United States.

Romney, in an interview to air on "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer," cited her service as a local and then state official as well as her selection as the GOP vice presidential nominee in 2008 as examples as to why she is qualified.

Blitzer, who was interviewing Romney about his new book "No Apology: The Case for American Greatness," specifically asked whether Palin is qualified to be president. "I sure do," said Romney.

He added, "She's been a mayor, she's been a governor, she's been part of a presidential campaign, she's got a lot of support."

Palin, a virtual unknown until she was chosen by Sen. John McCain to be his running mate in 2008, came under fire from critics who charged she did not have enough experience to be vice president.

Romney, who unsuccessfully sought the Republican Party nomination in 2008, was asked by Blitzer about running again for president, an idea he did not rule out.

My god the Democratic answer for the 2012 elections is simple. Ask all Republican 2012 candidates if Palin is presidential material and no matter how they answer they will loose some significant part of the “Right.”

Mitt, if that is what you think, seriously believe, then obviously, YOU are NOT qualified to be President.

Not only did he just show his own lack of judgment, but he gave her perfect ammo against him in the Republican primaries. What an idiot.

I must admit I join many others here in saying that Romney suggesting that he feels that Half-term Palin is ready for the White House totally negates any chance of me voting for him in an election.

Come on Mitt, you really can't believe that can you?
How about growing some and be a man and stand up against your party affiliation.

Being President is not like being a Mayor. Please stop that stupid argument about Palin having "more experience." She ran the City Hall like she runs household. And Governor – well she was only their for half a term. No telling how well she did at that, and the first half of the term she campaigned all over the Country calling Obama hateful names. She is an airhead, a dimwit and she could never, under any circumstances, regardless of how much she is "schooled", ever be smart enough to be President or V.P. She doesn't even come close to having Hillary Clinton's intelligence. So, stop with this ridiculous "she's got experience" argument.

If Romney seriously thinks that Palin is qualified to be president, then he has just demonstrated that he is not qualified to be president. His judgment clearly is deeply flawed. Not the sort of person you want in the Oval Office.

If Romney thinks that Sarah Palin is qualified to serve as President of the United States that comment clearly shows that he is not!

It only took him about 18 months for his brain to be able to force his mouth to tell this absurd lie.

Mitt Romney has revealed himself to be a good-for-nothing politician.

Amazing .... I once thought he had the goods.

@ brainwashed Just because you have "experience" in anything doesn't mean you are any good at it. There are a lot of people out there that get hired into a job with no experience and excel in it.

@ Obama victim the childish name calling I have seen from you just tells me you are petty and jealous. You behavior is more appalling than that of a grade school bully. Time to grow up. It is perfectly okay to disagree with someone or not like them, but it is not okay to call them names.

That is all we need to know about his judgment! Thanks, that's enough sir. You're pandering to the far right Christian family values crowd won't get you anywhere. They don't like you purely because of your religion. It doesn't matter what you say.

Oh Mitt, time to get a short skirt and blue eye shadow.
if you're that afraid of the ex-Governor's popularity that
you have to score brownie points with the Palinistas then
your "say anything, do anything but get elected street
    corner" awaits.

  23. Moderate for Obama

Palin is nowhere near qualified to be president. Let's state the facts. She had to scribble 3 talking points on her hand to remember to talk about them at a Tea Party Dinner and those are the three main things they were founded on. She quit her job as Governor because she could no longer afford the defense costs of her ethics investigations. She doesn't know the difference between taxation without representation and fiscal conservatism. She is a bumbling idiot when she talks, it's like listening to Bush in a skirt. She DOES NOT CARRY THE VALUES OF THIS COUNTRY PERIOD. All she can talk about is Alaska this and Alaska that. Seriosly Alaska has the population of Newark NJ. She's only for REAL AMERICANS (HINT) kinda divisive if you look at it . Don't you want your president to represent all of this country and not just part. Well for some of you that's exactly what you want. Hateful intolerent and just plain old dumb. AND TO THINK MOST OF THE PEOPLE LIKE THIS CLAIM TO BE CHRISTIANS.

Hey, all you stupid kool aid sippers thought that Odumbo was well qualified. Boy were you wrong about this one.
As far as Sarah being president, as least we wouldnt be holding are breath wondering when our country is going to fold up because we ran out of cash due to excessive spending.
But the truth of the matter is, she wont be president but once Odumbo is voted out and a real president is voted in I feel she may be part of their administration.
Boy, wouldnt that tick you little weasel's off.

    2010/2012 REAL Change is coming
