GOP could win control of the House, Boehner says

Washington (CNN) – House Minority Leader John Boehner is feeling upbeat about his party’s prospects in November’s midterm elections.

“We've got more candidates than we've ever had,” Boehner said in an interview that airs on Sunday’s State of the Union. “We've got better candidates than we ever had. We have a better process of helping to grow candidates and grow campaigns than we've ever had. No question that we're going to get outspent in this election. But I think that - that we have a chance at winning Republican control of the House.”

“And I'm going to do everything I can to see that it happens,” Boehner also said.

Asked by CNN Senior Political Correspondent Candy Crowley to evaluate the GOP’s chances of retaking the House, Boehner was realistic.

“It's a steep climb, but it's doable,” Boehner told Crowley.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-California, begs to differ with Boehner’s prediction.

“The Democrats will retain the majority in the House of Representatives,” Pelosi said on State of the Union last month.

Pelosi added, “I'm not yielding one grain of sand, we're fighting for every seat.”

The 'Orange Boner' is so far off on this one as to be laughable, only in his dreams will this take place but I am sure he is hoping it will. Americans still remember how badly the Repugliban ran this country and how they practically destroyed it. It is going to take more than the Health Care Reform to give the House back to Repuglibans, what he is not stating is most of the people who disapprove of the current Reform bill are upset because there is no public option, something the Repugnant Pebugliban stopped and forced out of the bill, if anything the Repugliban may see more backlash than they could have ever imagined because if there is one parth that just doesn't get it yet it is the Repugliban.

For the economic sake of our nation, I hope the GOP wins the house. What you liberals don't understand is that this administration is hurting our economy more than helping it. It's basic economics.

This administration is forcing our American dollar to weaken each and every day around the world. It's disturbing and it needs to be stopped.

The liberal "give everybody everything for free so they don't have to work for it" doctrine needs to END NOW!

The Boner is huffing his tanning spray again.

This country does NOT need the same people in place again that lead us down the road for 8 years to near destruction.

@WoW I suppose then you forgot how we got here in the first place, from 8 years of idiots like the 'Orange Boner' running things into the ground under GW Bush. Everything we are suffering now is because of the uselss Repugliban and there is nothing you can do to rewrite that history, admit it, Repugliban are the most worthless party in the history of the US and have done more damag single handed to this country than any other party in our country's history.

They somehow still don't get it. This fight is not about parties, but it is about our country moving forward and staying alive. When you put party affiliation above your country, you are a traitor.

"This administration is forcing our American dollar to weaken each and every day around the world. It's disturbing and it needs to be stopped. "

The dollar is UP about 12% vs. the euro over the last 3 months. What's disturbing is that right-wingers/teabaggers can't seem to even read.

Nancy drained the swamp and exposed all her corrupt democrats. Yep democrats are toast in 2010 and 2012 health care passing or not. They been in control since 2007 and have done nothing but whine and blame everyone else for their corruption and failures.

Boehner is right, of course, and if the Dems go ahead with the reconciliation process, they're going to give him a lot of help.

Thank you sir very much for your prediction. Often times I find myself in total disagreement with you over a braod range of topics. Hoiwever this time you are dead on right. The Democrats in congress have squandered a perfect opportunity to become a lasting majority.

You folks dould win the country would then lose.

Evidently the bane of the Repugnican party thinks if they throw enough candidates against the wall some will stick. Hopefully what these right wingnuts will do is to cause Americans to actually examine candidates and their public statements and positions. If anyone with intelligence and a good heart does this, the radicals will be out of office and going to Fox looking for jobs in the scare industry. America just cannot be stupid enough to continue giving the radical right any time at all. Life is too short for stupid.

In Texas the school comity is rewriting history. They have dropped Thomas Jefferson from their school studies because he spoke of separation of church and state. They call for freedom of religion but clearly favor only one religion. Just another case of the republicans forcing their way of thinking and taking our rights away. They want to force their views on religion in the class room. Keep it up and even Rowe won't want to vote republican. They are also making the Revolution ; the preceded the birth of our nation; sound like it was a clam bake. silly republicans

I certainly hope he is wrong and that this country is not stupid enough to vote for a repeat of disaster. Some say we often vote for the very things that destroy us, but I sure hope that doesn't come true.

Back to the glorious days of Bush-Cheney. We really would have been better off had Democrats blocked the Republican bank bail-out bill in 2008 and let the country plunge into a second Great Depression...because we Americans just don't get how bad the GOP is for our country.

And then what? instead of just shouting no in unison they would have to actually do something. They had 8 years, most of it with complete conrol of the entire federal apparatus. And that folks is exactly why the nation looks like it does right now. boner had no clue of what to do when he was in power, why should anyone think that a mere 14 months later he suddenly has a clue now?
