Cindy Sheehan camps out on National Mall

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2010/images/03/15/art.sheehan0315.gi.jpg caption="Sheehan, shown here in an October 2009 file photo, said she and her fellow anti-war protestors are demanding that a representative from the peace movement have a seat at the table when war is being considered."]
Washington (CNN) - Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan, who became a household name for protesting outside of former President Bush's Texas ranch, is now camping out on the soggy grounds of the Washington Monument in an effort to draw attention to her cause.

Sheehan, whose son was killed in Iraq, said she and her fellow anti-war protestors are demanding that a representative from the peace movement have a seat at the table when war is being considered.

"We are committed to doing this until we see activity from the government," said Sheehan, referring to the anti-war protestors resolve to remain on the National Mall.

Sheehan said that each day this week there will be "teach-ins and training for non-violent civil resistance until Monday when the action starts."

The "action" will be blocking intersections in the nation's Capital as well as protesting at offices, she said. But Sheehan noted "we don't want to divulge what we are doing because we don't want law enforcement to be able to organize against us beforehand for our actions."

After a trip to Target to load up on necessary camping supplies as well as tables and chairs it would appear that Sheehan has no plans on leaving.

Call her looney, crazy, whatever you like. But I for one, admire Cindy for standing up for her values!

I wish this woman would shut up and leave already. My heart goes out to any parent that loses a son or daughter in the line of duty, but this woman needs to go home, put her feet up for a while, and find something else to do. I've had enough of her, I know that Bush had enough of her, and I'm sure that Obama has had enough of her. Cindy Sheehan, go home and shut up!

This woman is a complete and utter DISGRACE to her son, who willingly gave his life for his country.

  4. Don't worry Cindy......

the Taliban are making Obama look like a fool and he will soon have to give up in defeat....

15,000 NATO troops defeated 400 Taliban in Marjah which is nothing but a hamlet......yesterday the Taliban started to level Kandahar with 4 major explosions; this is a city of 800,000 people......

What message did they send Obama....1) Obama has not learned the lesson of the Russian failure in Afghanistan, 2) Obama cannot occupy all of Afghanistan and must therefor fail, and 3) Afghanistan is Obama's Vietnam.

Did she ever use her son's insurance and give him the burial and headstone he deserves?

She was skillfully used by the media against Bush. I wonder now that the "media's (s)elected one" is on office?!

I've always said that some people have a cause, just not the right one. In this case, SHE can either:

A.) Go to war and fight
    or
B.) Be thankful for the ones who did/do for our freedom.

Her son made a CHOICE to fight for his freedom, he is probably not very happy about his mothers intentions on his behalf...Sam

    A queston for CNN.
What would this sleeze ball do if you and ther remainder of the liberal media would drop her and pretend she doesn't exist?
    thankx.
She is nothing more than one "out for attention" and you feed her.
Might as well go to the Zoo and feed the animals there!

I really, really like this woman. Peace? OMG! What a concept! Money for health, money for housing, money for education, money for the people, by the people and of the people. I hate paying taxes, knowing I'm paying for war, for politicians' health care when I can't afford any for myself, for politicians' suits while I shop at thrift stores, and for the whole endless war-industry that never seems to stop blowing someone, somewhere, to death and destruction. PEACE! Dude, it's about time. I'd happily pay taxes for peace.

I am sick of Cindy Sheehan. She doesn't deserve a seat at any table. Why is CNN covering this psycho? She should get abducted by the NSA (No Such Agency) and sent to some country with an azikstan in it's name for 20 years. Her son joined the military of his free will and chose to serve his country (an honorable thing to do). He paid the ultimate price for that service and that is a horrible thing. However if Cindy is upset with anybody it should be her son for joining or herself for not talking him out of it. I plead with the capital police to arrest this menace for loitering and hold her for as long as possible.

We need to find the best way to leave Iraq and Afghanistan soon. The previous president led our country into a deep abyss...not just in the war arenas that he endorsed and created, but economically, socially, morally, and democratically.

I'm sorry Cindy along with thousands Americans who have lost their family members in war, but I disagree with giving them a seat at the table because National Security would be compromised. Emotions are one thing but war reaches far beyond those boundaries.

There were plenty of people like Cindy centuries ago. They were called Tories. If you don't like the way our country operates, move somewhere else.

Her family disowned her, the dems have no further use for her, all that's left is her invisible army of "we".........Take away the cameras, ignore her and maybe she'll go home and get the grief counseling she needs.
