"You lie!" congressman praised by voters in new ad

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption ="Rep. Joe Wilson of ‘You lie!’ fame is out Tuesday with a new television ad."]Washington (CNN) – He sat down and yelled, "You lie," at President Obama. But according to a new TV ad, he "stood up, when most people have been silent."

That's the sentiment from voters in South Carolina Rep. Joe Wilson's new television spot - the first of his re-election campaign.

The 60-second spot features voters defending Wilson's work on their behalf, though not specifically his outburst at President Obama during a health care speech to Congress last September.

"He's passionate about what he does. And I respect that," one person says in the ad. "He says what he means, and he does what he says," explains another.

Brian DeRoy, Communications Director for Wilson's campaign, told CNN that a radio spot complements the television ad - and that both are debuting throughout South Carolina's 2nd Congressional District.

The campaign for Wilson's Democratic opponent told supporters that Wilson's new ad shows the Republican "bragging about his outburst again."

In a fundraising e-mail, Democrat Rob Miller's campaign said Wilson is "scared, because he's spent so much time as a Washington Congressman representing special interests." Miller's campaign said Wilson is spending money raised from the outburst.

Yet the Miller campaign is also trying to raise money off the controversy, urging supporters to contribute.

  1. An 8 year old ELEPHANT dung heap, does not transform into compost in just 1 year!

Republiklans, what hypocrites they vilify the President for respectfully stating that Supreme Court has allowed foreign companies to now purchase a Congressional seat, but they make the clown that screams "you lie" a folk hero.

And before you cons state the Supreme Court did NOT allow foreign countries to buy seats, cuz you just listen to Fake the News.

Here is the paragraph President Obama was referring to:

Because §441b is not limited to corporations or associations created in foreign countries or funded predominantly by foreignshareholders, it would be overbroad even if the Court were to recognize a compelling governmental interest in limiting foreign influence over the Nation’s political process. Pp. 46–47.

so that paragraph states why 75% of America agrees with President Obama the ruling was a POS, of course, you Fox fools will eat it up with a spoon!

Remarkable! Voters that appear in the ad that he created support him! What are the odds of that?

Why is CNN reporting on the unsurprising content of campaign ads?

Well, you can always tell a political add that will run on TVs in Dumbf–kistan. It quickly drops all semblance to reality, glorifies the abject stupidty of rightwing uber-partisans, and panders to the lowest gene-sets in the human DNA pool. SC spends so much time electing officials that would like to see this country dragged back into the Dark Ages, or at least back into the pre-emancipation days, does its people even know we're in the 21st century? Stupid is as stupid does, while blindly following the rightwing into the next holocaust.

Joe Wilson may be "passionate," but what has that to do with ability? He may have made a name for himelf doing something that was as rude as it was stupid. Is this is major contribution to governance?

He's an idiot, a liar, and is very much the representative of the gop. They are obstructionists with no goal higher than to see the President fail. This man is a sham.

People like under cover KKK Joe and his Assistant Grand Wizard Demint keep reminding me not to tell anyone that I am from South Carolina, no matter how much the world and things change, to a lot of those folks who keep electing Joe and Demint, everything remains the same, to heck with the 21st Centry and something you call change.

What do you expect, he's from the South. I'm from Louisiana and I see Joe Wilson's all around me, if you are not a republican , people are rude, disrespectful and raceist. I see it because they think everyone here is republican and they simply say whatever they want.

terry,va – US government is prohibited BY LAW to fund abortion. Stop the lies.

Monkey wrench – the old 'libs don't work and don't pay taxes and only wait in line for their handouts' is so old, so proven as a stupid lie and ridiculous argument, that it's like you have not wrote it at all. Who pays atention to someone who lies so shamelessly over and over again?
    Not me.

I would like to reiterate Joe Wilson's excellent point... compounded even more, given all of the recent mis truths from our dear President's sweet little lips. President Obama, you are a gifted Liar.

Talent is a funny thing, Lying could be what you were born to do.
I do admire your giftedness in that area Obama. You are amazing,
just wish you would get into a more lucrative profession utilizing those great lying abilities. Maybe you could be an Actor. You seem to love the stage.

CNN, if I've already said it, why isn't my comment "awaiting moderation"?

donttread, "the President’s premeditated verbal attack on the highest court in the land on National TV" has happened many times in the past. You're just angry because some "uppity" black guy said it.

In answer to you question, what joe wilson did was far worse than what the President did, and what the supremes did to warrant "the President’s premeditated verbal attack on the highest court in the land on National TV" was by far the most disgusting thing those activist judges legislating from the bench could have done. wilson was disrespectful and ignorant, and the supremes were disgusting in that NOBODY requested to do what they did, which is what ignited "the President’s premeditated verbal attack on the highest court in the land on National TV".

Like it or not, the office of the President of the United States trumps both the disrespectful congressman AND the supremes.

Obama is literally forcing his agenda upon America. Those that are so "Gung Ho" I only ask, "Why?". All the "sweet heart" deals are in place, no provision for buying across state lines, no tort reform, no final cost estimates, abortions okay, no nothing. Anything that comes from this bill will not materialize for 3-5 years. What WILL happen is taxes will go up higher than you can imagine. Seniors on Medicare will suffer, insurance premiums will go UP. I don't have Insurance. Self-Employed with High Blood Pressure (under control for 10 years), but after paying $800/mo with $5,000 deductible had to cancel. Can not get insurance because it is pre-existing. Do I want this farce of a bill? NO!!!! They need to get it right! So tired of all the bureaucracy!
