Dodd calls for Lehman Bros. investigation

NEW YORK ( - A year and a half after Lehman Brothers' collapse, Senate Banking Committee Chairman Chris Dodd, D-Conn., is calling for a federal investigation into the "Lehman situation" and other companies that may have fudged their balance sheets, contributing to the financial crisis.

"We must work tirelessly to reduce the incidence of financial fraud in order to restore trust and confidence in the financial markets," Dodd wrote in a letter sent to Attorney General Eric Holder on Friday.

Who is going to investigate Dodds, god knows he and Barney Franks need more investigation than mafia itself.

Good idea. And why the FBI is at it, they can examine Dudd's role in Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Countrywide Mortgage and a host of banks he's tight with. Then, we can ship him off to Gitmo to be with all of the others who've tried to destory this country.

Remember in one of the Crocodile Dundee movies when the kangaroo was shooting back at the drunk hunters, I am hoping that Lehman Brothers asks that there be an investigation of Dodd! And Pelosi, and Reid, and Schumer, and Landrieu, and Waxman, and Bawney, and, and, and!

Dodd's making up for a career of Wall Street pandering before his time is up, and I couldn't be happier. Unfortunetely, no one from Lehman, Goldman, Citi, or any other firm, is going to jail because all of their abuses are remarkably legal and unregulated. The gesture is much appreciated, though, and I'm sure no one will be mad at Congress or Dodd when these bastards are cleared- they'll be mad at the bastards instead.

That is the first thing congress should have done before passing the TARP bill. That is the first thing Obama should have done when getting into office (invistigate Wall Street). I guess better late then never!

Right on Chris, and then on to the in depth investigations of Fannie and Freddie and Nationwide! Hey, while at it, let's investigate how many Congressmen and Congresswomen have become multi-millionaires while on the Federal payroll of $167,000.00/yr!

Where's the financial reform we were promised to prevent this from happening again? There were reports of fraud and manipulation a long time ago and yet these shiesters keep getting away with it. Sen. Kaufman is the only one that gets it by calling for investigations and jail time for executives that cooked the books.

What a joke! Chris Dodd is such a hypocritical crook that he isn't running for re-election because he's guilty as sin with his Countrywide real estate deals. His call for an investigation of Lehman Brothers show just how much gall this scumbag has!

Why bother? The company is out of business. Leave the employees alone and let them get on with their careers.

Ask a fraud to catch a fraud. Put yourself, Barney, Geithner and Barry on the case. You bunch of thieves should know the ins and outs.

Cris arn't you calling the kettle black. I find it hard to believe that you have the nerve to even show up for a meeting of the Senate Banking Committee given your sorted ties to Fanny Mae and your participation in fermenting the banking collapse.
